Not really.

My island feels small, and I just hate having a beach in every corner of the map. Though that's more of a general problem with the game

I keep trying new layouts but there is a distaste in my island that remains. There are only about 2 parts of my island that I am completely satisfied with right now.

I feel like a lot of problems could be resolved if they'd just allow us to move the Town Hall and Plaza

Nope, not at all. Honestly, I've had a really hard time working on my town, especially compared to NL, where we couldn't terraform and were limited by our map, among other things. In NH, there's so much you can do, but it also means there's nothing to use as a guideline for how to design my island, besides the very few things that can't be altered.

It also doesn't help that a lot of popular islands, while super pretty, are very different from what I want my island to be like - I don't like using lots of custom patterns, want a very structured layout and not a whimsical cottagecore one, but also don't like the ultra urban Japanese/Korean city islands, etc.

No, for me Animal Crossing is not about being happy. If I'm happy I stop playing. But, like, I'll never be satisfied or want what I have. Everything different is always better. I now have a centered island and I know a month from now I'll think something else is better. I don't know, I'm not good at terraforming or decorating so in theory Animal Crossing isn't my game lol. I'll try my best though, if everything's centered and relative to each other I can create something. Left to my own devices I just don't know what to do.

for the most part, i think my island is perfect, but there are still a couple areas that are just okay imo. i still like them, but they're not quite as exciting as some of my favorite areas on the island

I've done several islands and I like(d) them all. Sometimes I wish I could be more creative and do a great island like what you see on youtube but it's okay. I've also thought of doing a city theme island but it has never worked out. The ones I make are fairly natural, somewhat low key, and comfortable for me to play the game. I like interacting with the villagers and some NPCs and I like acquiring in-game items, so the look of the island isn't the whole reason I play.

I agree with this a bit. I'm thinking of resetting an island again because, while I like it, there's not much that I want to do on it each day. I mostly run around, look at it, and talk to the villagers.

I think it's difficult to be 100% satisfied with any island, but maybe that's just my perspective lol. My island is 'finished' if you will, and has been for a while, but I have far more ideas than I have space (and practical abilities). at the moment I'm planning on redecorating one section of my island, at which point I'll probably be happy enough with it. I still enjoy my island and play in it daily so I'm not strictly 'unsatisfied', but part of me wishes I could do certain things differently but at this stage it'd require so much work it'd be easier to just reset!

I'm always changing mine lol, so probably not. I'm happy with how it's going so far but I always get bored and change it up a little.

I rarely ever move the shops though, they've stayed in the same place since March

No because I have a bunch of flowers and it keeps raining on my island so the flowers start to become overwhelming. I've also been extremely discouraged to try to make my island look nice since so many people do such amazing work and I have no clue what to do with my island.

Somewhat happy. It's a crowded in some parts, and I really wish I could place one more bridge, but alas, I've maxed out. There's also flowers everywhere--mostly in the back of my island and on the beaches because I need to organize/find a place for them.

There are various areas that I really love, like the front of my museum and this cute little wooden bridge near a waterfall. I also like my small "Little Asia" area dedicated to Drago and Kabuki with my tiny orchard across the way. No matter how many times I changed my island layout, all of these things remained the same. :)

At this moment, yes! I finally redid my island into a style and theme that I wanted to do for a long time, and it's really satisfying having it completed. I'll likely change it up again eventually but for now I'm happy with it.
