My mom did most of the cooking this year, but I was able to help her out with a few things! I sorted the dried pinto beans to check for any bad beans/small pebbles that got mixed in
(and there were a few of the former and one of the latter), helped a little with removing kale stems, and decorated the yule log my mom baked.
We also had a really nice salad, some mashed potatoes, and some artichoke heart dip. The pinto beans went into a bean and rice dish, and the kale was either sautéed and mixed into the dip. We had some homemade fruit punch as well, and while I'm not a fan of most punch, this was quite good!
