WHAT THE HECK, THEY ARE SO PRICEY FOR FULL SETS. WHYYYYYY. I just wanted some cute animals or ones of the same species. And just specific cards that are tier 5 animals are like $12+. Whyyyy

Basically, I feel bad for anyone starting to collect the cards now that they aren't really in stores anymore. The prices are jacked way high.

Trust me, they were a little better years ago.

But yeah, getting amiibo cards is pretty difficult these days. almost no retailers sell them anymore. I've been going around for months asking if they had any, but Gamestop & Target said they're discontinued. x_x

i agreed. i stop actively buying the regular amiibo cards since i realized i didn't need them all. if i see them at regular retail stores, i may get a pack or two. i would have liked to collect them but those prices stop me and i'm glad. lol on a side note, i did get the japanese welcome amiibo set for $1.6 each with shipping. much more reasonable than a lot of others out there and from buying them individually.

If I'm being honest, I did not think they would sell for that much. But I decided to list it on a few different sites and it sold within 24 hours. Do I think they're crazy? Ehhh a little but lol. But hey, they got what they wanted and I got what I wanted.

With Toys R Us going out of business, the amiibo card prices will probably keep getting worse in the few places they're still sold, unfortunately. I've been trying to stock up while the prices are still reasonable, and hopefully I'll be able to get some of the cards I really want so I don't have to try and go through ebay.

I just started playing New Leaf in August and just started collecting cards. I realized I'm probably never going to have official full sets so I'm either trading for or buying the cards I really like. I've also bought fan made cards and may just go that way from here on out. I got a deal on a full 50 card WA set recently from someone I've bought from before. His printer broke so he could give me functional cards but they were plain white. He gave me the whole set plus shipping for under $100 US. His cards are nice plastic too. I printed out stickers, slapped them on the cards and I'm happy.

So basically they are expensive af because they are discontinued. Don't think for a second that you'll find them cheap for being discontinued. Everything that is old and discontinued isn't going to sell cheap lol. Makes sense but ridiculous as they were sold for cheap in stores.

lol i remember when they were first released and i saw my local video game shop selling them.. they were almost never touched because the people in my area who play video games are mostly guys and they only care about ps4 games/other games that aren't ""cute""

i didnt even bother checking it out too bc i knew i needed a nfc reader which is pricey and also it was the time where i abandoned my 3ds lol.... damn.. if only i knew they'd be this rare to the point that people would spend thousands of dollars on em

amiibo crafts on etsy sells their fanmade cards for 3.50 each!! Their quality is nice n glossy, they come in a plastic seal and they're super durable. I bought the whole set of 50 + set of sanrio cards from them. : )
