United States ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

The price is absolutely insane on some of the cards :( I started collecting them late so I definitely relate. Bob costs about $10+, even Marshall costs about $30+ when I looked on eBay. The welcome amiibo RV cards are more expensive, most of them are above $10-20 each, Sanrio cards are even worse for prices.

The lower tiers are super duper cheap on eBay if you buy them individually. However, I wouldn't pay, lets say, $24 for a Julian. But I just bought 5 for about ten the other day, so I thought that was a pretty good deal.

It's pretty good business. I used to sell extras on eBay for high prices and made about $100 on just a couple of cards.

Where did you see fan made for $4? I'm always on the look out for good deals. :)

On etsy, next time I order some, I might try another seller since the ones I order were blurry and oddly cut. ( but the work and that's all I really care about.(

I might try Etsy next time. Although the gentleman I deal with gave me such a good deal on the 50 WA cards that I might stay with him. Under $100 US for his vs. $400 US for an official set - at this point I'm fine with printing out my own stickers when I can get fanmade amiibo cards for under $3 a piece.

If anyone is interested in who I got my WA set from feel free to PM me. :)

I didn't know they were discontinued. I didn't play ancl for a while since my regular 3ds broke. The Welcome Amiibo wasn't on my old one. But for Christmas, I received a new 3ds xl and it updated and put it on there. Too bad the new 3ds xl came with a nfc reader built in because I'll probably never use it. LOL. I guess also I'm not too familiar with all the extra content items so I don't really care about getting certain sets. Especially since you can find other people with certain RVS and stuff on the bell tree forums when you really want an item.

I just started playing New Leaf in August and just started collecting cards. I realized I'm probably never going to have official full sets so I'm either trading for or buying the cards I really like. I've also bought fan made cards and may just go that way from here on out. I got a deal on a full 50 card WA set recently from someone I've bought from before. His printer broke so he could give me functional cards but they were plain white. He gave me the whole set plus shipping for under $100 US. His cards are nice plastic too. I printed out stickers, slapped them on the cards and I'm happy.

I hate how expensive some of the cards are. I only need five more cards to complete series 1-4, and of course four out of those five happen to be the most popular, sought out cards that everyone is after. I looked on ebay the other day and I saw that some people were charging over $100 for one of these cards. That's ridiculous. Luckily most people were only charging about $20-$30, but even then that is kind of a lot for just one card in my opinion. But it looks like I'll probably have to buy them, because they're so hard to find that I'm not sure I'll ever be able to get them through trading.

Anyone who lives in North America and is looking for official cards at decent prices: Nintendo store sells series 1-4 for regular retail price + $5 for shipping: https://store.nintendo.com/ng3/us/po/browse/subcategory.jsp?categoryId=cat570934
Granted, you can only get 5 packs per set for each customer, but it's better than nothing. The Nintendo store unfortunately doesn't sell WA, but if you want a full official set for cheap, I suggest looking into importing the Japanese set. Even on Ebay you can get a full set+ 10 extra for about $75. If you don't wanna do that there's always custom cards that you can find on etsy, which work great. I suggest Etsy for custom cards of Sanrio too, official cards are ridiculous to buy these days. It sucks that people who started collecting late have such a hard time, but there are ways around it, at least for now.

I'm a late collector and there's no way I could be able to collect them.

I mean, there ARE sites like Etsy that sell the six Sanrio cards for $28, the average card being $5 and that's better than most of the prices I've seen.

The prices are horrible. Sometimes I'll go to retail like Toys-R-Us (since they're all on sale there lol) and buy them, but that's about it.

Ack the rising prices are troublesome :(
I'm very close to completing a series 1-4 collection and I'm not sure if I can at this point due to taking a hiatus from collecting ;.;
It sucks, too, because I only needed a couple cards from series 4! I'm still trying though!

I was too late to collecting WA so I can kiss that dream by as well :')
Though I was able to snag a couple unpopular WA cards!
