Are you still happy with...? PART 3: Your native fruit

Since a lot of people have been living on their island for six months, I'm making a series of polls to see how many are still satisfied with their island! I will be covering things that cannot be changed unless you reset the game. Here is a short analysis of the results so far:

Spoiler: PART 1 - Airport color

Blue seems to be the most popular airport color, with red being the least. An overwhelming majority of voters consider themselves satisfied with their airport color. Overall, people with yellow airports are more likely to want to change their color than those who have another color. Let's hope Tom Nook eventually gives us other options, like pink, purple or brown!

Few voters have south & west river mouths, but those people seem to be the most satisfied with their river placement. The most popular river mouth position seems to be south & east. Overall, people with double south river are more likely to want to change to another layout, but then, most people are satisfied with their river mouths and have learned to work around them.

Next up is native fruit!

The ultimate question: what is your native fruit? You can have either apples, cherries, oranges, peaches or pears as the native fruit of your island, which will also be indicated on your passport and present on most other mystery islands. One of these fruits will also be your secondary fruit, which you can sometimes encounter on mystery island tour. Unlike other fruits, which sell for 500 bells each, your native fruit is only worth 100 bells. Unlike previous games, you cannot (yet) get a perfect version of your native fruit.

Are you happy with the fruit you got, or would you change it if you had the chance? Which fruit did you want when you started the game? Are you tired of seeing your native (and secondary) fruit on mystery islands? Also let us know what you've done with your native fruit: have you made an orchard or have you eradicated it from your island completely? Do you sell them at your own shop, at other people's shop or do you only use them for decoration purpose?

I wanted either apples, peaches or cherries as my native fruit, so I was happy when I got apples as my primary fruit and cherries as my secondary fruit! I'm sad there aren't any perfect fruits, because I love the looks of perfect apples! I also wish there was a little more variety on mystery island tours. When I go on tours, I do harvest apples to sell them at a friend's shop. I also use them as food when I run out of easter eggs and coconuts. On my island, I only use fruit trees as decoration, but I have a special place for apples near my airport.

I have apples. While I would change the drink since the orange drink is cuter, I don't regret my fruit choice with apples.

Apples here, I don't really care. It's pretty easy to get any kind of fruit so you can easily replace your native one if you want, I hardly ever look at passports and certainly not to check native fruits, and find shaking them out of trees to earn bells incredibly tedious.

I guess I am happy with my fruit, but I think I would be with any of them!

I don't really like the way fruit trees look either way. I currently have an orchard for farming fruit to sell for that achievement and I cannot wait to demolish it again.

I am happy that Oranges are my Native fruits, because because I don't particularly like it.

They are worth the least, so I don't have to have too many of them on my island.

I have peaches, and I'm happy with them. Cherries are my favorite, but peaches were my second choice. I actually did consider resetting for cherries at first, but since peaches are my second favorite and I got the blue airport I wanted on the first try, I just stuck with it. Also, at this point I have all of the different types of fruit trees on my island anyway~

i have apples & im quite happy with them. when i reset i'll also try to go for apples. i wouldnt mind pears, but i feel like there would be too much green going on with the trees and grass. the only fruit i didnt want at all was oranges bc i hate citrus fruits they smell bad and taste like chemicals to me and i would die if they were on my island and passport aaaa all the orange lovers can take all the ones thrown my way

I have cherries I had apples last time in New Leaf so I was glad for something new. Although I like peaches something about them looking like bottoms turned me off having them on my island haha

I'm happy with my native fruit, I have cherries in NL so it was nice to have oranges to differentiate from that. Plus, it's fun to have Tangy as a villager on an island full of oranges. Tbh I don't really care about native fruit that much, I would have been happy with anything except pears.

Though I don’t really know why they created native fruit. I can just plant any fruit in town and there’s no way knowing which one is the original since there’s no perfect fruits anymore. I like that my fruit matches my airport colors though.

I have pears as my native fruit. Although I would have liked to have peaches, I don’t mind it that much, as I was able to get all the other fruits! It would be nice if I could change, but I’m also okay with not changing. xD

Actually, native fruits appear on passports, too! But if you don't look at them/notice it doesn't matter much, lol

Anyway, I have peaches. They were my second choice for fruits (but the layout of my island was too perfect to pass up) after apples, so I'm pretty happy. Apples ended up being my sister fruit, so that was really nice, since I didn't have any other fruits for a long time! For me, native fruits matter because I use the trees to decorate. Like, I have an orchard with the "exotic" fruits. But I have peach trees lining paths and such- I still have more peach trees than any other fruit tree (except maybe oranges, Tangy has an orange grove around her house). I've just always had more of my native fruit than exotic fruit trees in previous games, so I wanted to stay true to that. I never really pick them, though, unless I'm in urgent need of energy to dig up a tree or smash a rock or something. Actually, I rarely collect my orchard fruits, either, since I've got more bells than I know what to do with right now
But, yah... to sum up- I'm still pretty happy with peaches. But if I could've done native fruit apples with peaches as a sister fruit- that would've been my IDEAL set-up. But the opposite is good enough and I wouldn't change it for any other combo!

I have peaches and I really wish I got oranges! Oranges go way better with my tropical island theme, and although my native fruit is peaches I don't have any growing on my island at all. I got peaches randomly though, and did not reset for them, so I wouldn't say I'm "still happy with" since I was never happy with them to begin with (I don't reset).

I'm ok with my oranges as my native fruit. If they do something with the native fruit I may not like it so much. (example perfect apples are the best looking, or if we get to bake with them I am not sure what you would make with oranges)

I wanted peaches as I've always had them in the past, but I got cherries.

My map was exactly what I wanted with the flower being hyacinths and the airport being blue, so I ended up just planting peaches.

Mine is Cherries and I actually wanted Cherries to begin with. When the first and only Island I selected had the fruits of Cherries, I took it as a good sign and kept it.

My native fruit is apples. This is one of the few things my S/O and I looked into before we got the game, but we didn't particularly care for whichever fruit we rolled. I'm happy with apples. To me, the native fruit doesn't matter, especially after getting all the fruits from Daisy Mae, Nook Mile islands, and my S/O because I don't often open up and view my passport.

I have cherries on my current island. I wanted either pears(1st choice) or cherries (2nd choice). The other aspects of the island were too good for me to keep resetting for pears, so I accepted cherries. It felt slightly like a sacrifice at first, but I've grown more fond of cherries, so I'm now happy enough to stick with this for now. I also really like how the perfect cherries look so if we ever get perfect fruit some day, that will be another positive

Apples are my island's native fruit. When I was first starting the game and was resetting for maps, I was hoping that I would get a good map with an orange airport and either apples or cherries as the fruit. As the resetting process had been taking a few days and I was tired of being particular, the game eventually gave me a map with a good layout, the orange airport I wanted, and the fruit happened to be apples. I stuck with it. I wasn't aware that perfect fruit was no longer a feature though and was kind of disappointed when I found out, since perfect apples looked cool and would've looked even better with New Horizons' graphics.

I can't say I'm particularly bothered one way or the other since, without perfect fruit, the fruits in New Horizons are fairly inconsequential outside of nice moneymaking in the early game. Definitely not something I'd throw away months of progress for. I do kind of like cherries better and might've preferred them, but it's whatever at this point. Considering I have an orchard with all of the different fruits, it doesn't really matter what the native one is.

I specifically reset so I could have native peaches and a blue airport. Peaches have always been my native fruit for my first town since CF.

On Evwirt I had to compromise with pears (and a couple other things) because everything else was cool. Pears are only JUST above oranges so it’s my second least favorite fruit. I’d prefer apples or cherries on Evwirt.
