Your answer here was definitely of interest to me. Would you say that France may have a lot of soft power in North America? Speaking as an American, I have been introduced to quite a bit of French media, and French literature and history was often pushed on me in grade school. Of course, 'quite a bit' and 'often' are vague, and might not be much at all; it only feels like the terms may be justified.
Quite frankly, I don't think France has a lot of cultural influence on the US. Well, mostly because what strikes me is how some people from the States couldn't even place our country on a map... I feel like, apart from
Am?lie and
The Artist, our movies are not that popular overseas (more in Europe though), for instance. It's hard to tell since I'm not American, but your knowledge on French culture makes me think you've had a good education, or at least, that you read a lot. I don't really know, that's a tricky question you're asking there
What is sure is that French people know more about the US than American people know about France, in general that is. But my point of view is probably thwart, sorry about that, I do have some clich?s when it comes to education in the US... so, sorry about that!
What are the effects of the ebola scare in your country?
People are worried, scared too, mostly because since we have a vast community of immigrants from Africa (mostly from Maghreb), risks might be 'higher' for the virus to get into our country (but then again, in my opinion, it's just another way xenophobic people found to complain about immigrants XD). We're not being paranoid but we're worried just like the rest of the world I presume.
Thanks for the questions guys ~
