Award System.

I'm on a forum and they have this and the members can request the award, or recommend the award to a different member, the awards are like '2 year membership, Music Lover, Spam Buster, GFX Artist, Quality Poster, Proud Geek, Staff Helper' and then under the members avatars you'll see what awards they have with a little icon.

That's pretty cool, If we had it on TBT we could use it like for TBT awards and etc.

That's the idea of it, and maybe when 3DS comes out, we can participate in tournaments like races and have an annual monthly race and the winner gets an award or something.

I love the system personally and used to use it on my forum, but last time it was mentioned I think the idea was shot down due to it provoking too much rivalry or something.

Because Yet Another Awards System is for specific-type awards, instead of awarding people for spamming. People could get awards for winning competitions, being a graphic artist that makes people lots of signatures/avatars, someone who posts a lot of guide threads, etc. It's basically special recognition from the staff instead of just automatically awarding things to people for reaching a high amount of posts or something.

I just read it over again, I thought he meant on your profile it'll show the total time spent online, bells, number of PM's sent. My idea is like for graphic artists, they could get an award for being a good designer competition winners could get an award for that, members who post what they're listening to frequently could get an award for being a music lover, etc.

It's like a reward, Like on Xbox's you win an award for getting an achievement. If it was a ranking system then people will be judging people on their ranks rather than themselves.

Just a reward, basically to promote good will on the forum. If someone helps out a lot, they get an award. If someone makes a lot of signatures/avatars for people, they get an award, etc.
