I'm trying to get enough for a username change, since this is an old username I went by when I was younger and I'm not comfortable with it anymore. Can you only earn bells from posting? And if so, is there a limit of any kind? Like, do you stop getting bells after a certain amount of posts per day?

Sell collectibles, in-game items, or just post frequently.

It'll take time though so don't expect to get rich asap.

did you receive the shell currency when it was released? I used shells to change my username a few years back. I'm not sure shells are still used anymore, but perhaps contact staff on this? Being uncomfortable with your username may be a valid reason to request a change, but I'm not sure. Best to explain your situation to them if you really need to change it

earning tbt just by posting might take a while depending on how active you are but if you’re fairly active, especially in the subforums where you earn tbt by posting, it’ll rack up fairly quickly! though, to speed up the process, you could also sell collectibles and any in-game stuff from animal crossing or even other games like pokémon - good luck!

new horizons and i think animal crossing boards tend to yield more bells per post, but you're capped at 10 bells per post. as far as I know there's no daily limit.

I believe the staff announced that manual seashell transactions were on hold as of the last bell tree direct, so hopefully the shop returns soon.

This is correct. At the moment any name change requests being paid for in seashells are not being processed.

Being active on the forum is the best way to earn bells quick! Respond to people's questions, start an island journal, sell unwanted in-game items if you have any, do trades, etc. You can probably get enough bells in a week or two by being only moderately active!

i would say easiest way is to participate in every tbt event. usually theres a few collectibles in it that you can sell for 2-8k

Thanks, guys! ;; I still have 923 bells to go, but all the advice helps!

participate in the event going on atm and just post a lotttt.
the other day i needed around 100 more to get the birthstone i wanted, so i just posted a bunch and was able to get it by the end of the day.

Thank you guys so much! ;; I got enough to change my username!

Congratulations!

But then I'm still wondering... I see people easy buying collectibles for 100's or even 1000's of tbt's. Some have a lineup worth of 10000tbt while they aren't even here for that long. Some not even a month. I sell a lot of ingame items, I post on the forums but when I look at my ABD there's just a bit over 1000 bells 😅 How? Ok I've bought some collectibles and ingame items but still.... how?! 🤣

Many of the richer users are talented artists. They've earned high numbers of bells quickly by putting in a lot of time and effort to provide an in-demand service.

market for ACNH items has changed a LOT over the last few months. It was a lot more profitable to sell items ingame months ago than it is now.
It's mostly about finding your niche and try to fill a gap in the market with what you can provide c:
(but yes, art is profitable if you're good haha. I'm not xP)

Aaaah that explains a lot haha. Did a one time art job here and it earns some more indeed :)

And that explains it even more haha. Already thought that I was just a little too late with most of the selling stuff. But ah well it works and as long as I can give the people here the items they want everybody's happy :)

I'm struggling myself... I've tried to sell a few stuff but the demand is really low, I don't do art at all, so I'm giving up on those expensive collectibles lol

you've only been here for like 3 months, newer members being loaded isn't really a common occurrence. saving up for more expensive collectibles usually takes quite a while.

the fair is a pretty decent way to make bank too though so... 👀
