I'm sorry I haven't been much help in this so far. Real life had me tied up. I have been thinking about the clue though;
I remembered that in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain there is a mercenary group that calls themselves the Diamond Dogs. The Metal Gear franchise was created by Hideo Kajima. Kojima Productions and Konami worked together for many years building the Metal Gear franchise. Kojima Productions created the video games and Konami published them, including Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
In 2015 Konami and Kojima Productions parted ways badly - really badly. Konami stripped all references of Kojima from marketing. Kojima was executive vice president of Konami Digital Entertainment. Konami completely axed the position and removed it from official listings of the company's executives. Later on in 2015, Konami barred Kojima from going to accept the award for Best Action-Adventure Game at The Game Awards 2015. Needless to say fans were not pleased with Konami for that act. Several days later Kojima re-opened Kojima Productions as a stand alone, independent company from Konami.
Konami was originally a jukebox repair & rental company. Then they got into video games. Both jukeboxes and early video game consoles could be seen as "luxury" items. Konami basically "sold out" Kojima who was the artist who created the Diamond Dogs.
That's all I've got so far. I'm not sure how "gryphon" connects to Konami or Kojima but I thought I'd at least share this info.
