I prefer real Lego, but after using BrickLink Studio for the first time during the fair, I could see myself using it again. There were some confusing aspects and controls at first, but I was able to figure them out with the help of Google, and I had fun making my entry for the event!

Real Lego. I tried downloading the software for the fair since I don't have any Legos now but after seeing how long it was going to take, I aborted it.

Definitely real legos. The software just isn't for me. I didn't do that event. Oh well! I do have real lego sets built of many harry potter buildings.

Real Lego all the way.

There's a reason that Brick Building Bonanza is twice as long than the other events - because I knew people would need time to get to grips with the Bricklink software!

Real lego since it's easier to place what I want and where. Had to use bricklink though since we don't have any lego lol.

Admittedly I haven't downloaded/opened up BrickLink for myself, but I know I'd choose real Legos over it. There's something more satisfying about handling the pieces and putting them into place with your own hands, not to mention getting to see and enjoy your creation in real life.

I think I enjoy real lego more, although I haven't had an opportunity to build anything with real lego in a long time. The bricklink software was pretty interesting to use and I definitely see how other people could have a lot of fun with it. I think it would be fun to make impossible builds in there that could not exist in real life. I just don't think I'm a big enough lego fan to get the maximum enjoyment out of something like bricklink.

I will say that switching to a mouse instead of just trying to use my laptop trackpad was definitely a game changer when building my event entry, it became SO much easier.

Does anyone else find the corners of Lego pieces to be painfully sharp? That’s the major downside to real Lego I suppose 🤣

I prefer real lego, really like all the creative pieces you can make and the range of sets they have now - I haven’t actually made any for years but my brother has quite a few pieces and recently built the office (from the tv show) and all the little pieces are so creative and detailed, even had a little cat in one of the drawers 😄

When I used bricklink I found it quite tricky to work with, think with a lot more patience I might be able to used to it and maybe enjoy using it but don’t have the patience for that.

I tried downloading Bricklink to use it for the Brick Building Bonanza but found it impossible to use since I am on an iPad pretty much exclusively … I gave my Lego away a long time ago, so I couldn’t do this event … actually if anyone has suggestions on how to help me I would appreciate it but fair time is fast running out! Lol 😂

From what the majority of people had said about how frustrating using BrickLink is from the event, I knew I wouldn’t be able to handle that myself. So I finally busted open the 2 Animal Crossing lego sets on my own, & i enjoyed making a lil scene while I played with my kiddos.

Bricklink was so difficult for me to use! I appreciated that it had the full library of lego parts + a list of compatible parts though. If I had access to the bricks and the information that bricklink provides as, I'd love to try building the lego scene on my own. I love creating and crafts so I think lego would be way more fun for me.

Real Lego. It would be nice if it wasn't so expensive. Plus there was that series of Skylanders type Lego sets that you could use in a game, but the crappy part was the instructions were on there, and now discontinued. Lego was also apparently partially responsible for Cartoon Network cancelling the relatively good Thundercats reboot, in favor of something called Chima, that didn't do well either.

There was also Galidor.

I never really bothered with legos back in the day, plus I don't know where any of my old ones are from anywhere in my house. I also never bothered trying out bricklink as I'm too lazy to do my entry. I know what I want to do with it, I just never found the motivation to do it.

But if I had to choose, I'll do bricklink. I'm not spending my money on something I'll only use once and never again.
Small update: I just tried bricklink and dang is it too complicated! I quit and uninstalled immediately after I opened it.

Now I prefer neither of the two...
