I’ve never understood daylight savings time.. (I understand that depending on the season it is that means daylight will either last longer or shorter.. but how does that give you an extra hour? Isn’t there always 24 hours in the day regardless of how long the sun is up..? o.o) so I just go to sleep around the same times I usually do ^^

i keep waking up at 4 am!!!!
i cant take it anymore!!!!!!!!!
i wish i could sleep!! normally!!!

when the seasons change the sun rises and sets at different times.
like for example in winter you can get up at your normal time(lets say its 6AM)
and it will be way darker than it would if you woke up at 6AM in the summer.

its still 24 hours but every fall people move their clocks back an hour so that the
sun rises at a more reasonable time. you move them forward an hour in the spring.

i hope i explained that well enough! (-:

Arizona(with the exception of the Navajo Nation)does not observe Daylight Savings Time.In the early Seventies Arizona asked the U.S. government for an exemption due to the hot weather in the summer months. The state was concerned that an extra hour of daylight wasn't a good thing for business and recreation. For once our local government knuckleheads did something right.

WHAT. Theres a place in the US that doesn't observe daylight savings? Wow. I want to go there.

If you do visit, now thru early spring would be a good time. The highest it'll get is in the 90s. For the love of everything holy, don't visit in the summer. It's hell!

Haha, it gets wickedly hot here too, it's not obsurd to reach the 100s here in summer, just rare. It also doesn't get cold for the life of me. It'll be cold like 3 weeks out of the whole year, and not even everyday will be cold, or it'll only be cold in the mornings and nights. I need an excuse to wear a sweater.

I'm glad that where I live doesn't have DST because I would be forgetful about changing the time. x____x

Ohh that makes sense! Thank you for explaining it to me! :D
Um, but I just have one more question if that’s okay!;; How does DST work with commitments such as school and work? Do everyone’s bosses and teachers move their clock time accordingly too or do you just have to show up one hour early/later? o.o

Edit: I just found out that we don’t observe DST where I live ^^’

I tried staying up late again for this and ultimately failed by falling asleep not long after the time change. I just cannot stay up late anymore. Doing that in the Spring really did a number on my body. :/

On the plus side, I’m glad that we gained an extra hour. :)
