A dirt patch! I wonder what's inside.

Look! I dug up a fossil!

The fossil blueberry cookies are the real part of my entry, I just thought doing a pancake dirt pach to dig up just made the idea a little more fun. Sobbing they were more blue last night when I baked them but they look grey now, but they are died with crushed blueberries and water, need to do some tweaking to get a nicer colour but alas.

Maybe sort of can kind of see the blue tint slightly better. 🥲

I could tell the fossil cookies were blue and I loved your little story with the dig spot. 💙

❝ a common yet extremely delicious cake !
i decided to make the tasty cake collectible (๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑)
1724116956179.png

originally i wanted to decorate the whole cake but i very quickly realized that i did not make enough buttercream for this
— also would like to take this time to admit that i actually don't like cream or frosting at all, i like my cakes bare.

Are we allowed to use edible decorative herbs/vegetables like mint leaves as garnish like what you would see on desserts at restaurants? (It’s edible but usually not eaten as part of the dessert)

What do you make if you're not good at baking? A cherry blossom petal pile cake! I know, the flowers don't really look like cherry blossoms, but they're pink and in a pile, haha. There is a cake under there.

The in-game reference, cherry blossom petal pile:

The lopsided cake under the flowers, before i "fixed" the frosting. 😂

What i used to make the flowers. All edible, lol.

Some of the flowers drying. Was a lot of fun to try this! Making the flowers was a relaxing process, like playing with playdoh.

For my dessert I made a little Bell Tree out of mini cheesecakes, matcha for the leaves and chocolate for the trunk.
IMG_20240820_163508_(1280_x_1680_pixel).jpg

This mini cheesecake recipe is something I've made a few times but I made it a little differently this time so that I could also make a Bell Tree out of it. After making the crusts I divided the cheesecake mixture so that I could make the two different flavours. I also added some green food colouring to make the matcha ones a little more green.

This was answered in the FAQ thread, but also posting here in case others are curious. Yes, edible herbs are acceptable as decoration.

For my dessert, I made Moon Cakes to bring to the party! They are one of the new recipes in New Horizons and when I saw them on the recipe list I knew I had to give it a try! We are also approaching the Mooncake Festival making it all the more fitting! They fit perfectly with my cultural heritage and I'm sure will be a hit at TBT's 20th Birthday Celebration!

Brown-Sugar_Cupcakes_NH_Icon.png

I chose to do the brown sugar cupcakes from acnh!!
I didn't have any garnish, so instead I tried to recreate the leaf shape with green sprinkles! Thought that it'd be fitting over cupcakes anyway :> I also tried to recreate the drippy look of the frosting but my frosting was kinda thick lol but its sorta there 🧁✨
(don't have any progress picks either sorry folks, my kitchen was a mess from multiple things lmao)

I made Blanca sugar cookies with frosting 😊 I chose Blanca because even if I messed up and it looked wonky, at least it would be on brand!

I don't know what I was doing wrong, but at first the icing gel kept coming out super runny! As these poor souls can tell you...

Oh no! I only just saw this now, I promise I wasn't trying to copy 😭 They're so adorable though!!

Snow Bunny Icecream

I used my hands to mold some vanilla icecream into the shape, put it back in the freezer to cool for a bit, chopped up a green apple for the ears, and massacred a licorice bullet for the eyes and nose! Also used some spray cream for the little fuzzy tail, and icing sugar as a little bed of snow underneath.
I tried to add some mint syrup into the middle of the bun, but it only half worked because I wasn't able to get much in it without making the whole thing green, so I added some more while I was eating!

snow bun icecream zerous 2.jpg

I love the taste of mint and licorice together
I hope it's okay I forgot to take progress pictures! I was distracted and my hands covered in icecream 😭
