Do I need a full island to use amiibo?

I’ve restarted recently and forgot how this works already. I DO NOT LIKE MY CAMPER. Absolutely do not like him at all and I want to kick him out with an amiibo as soon as I am able to. Question is, how soon can I do it? Can I do it as soon as he’s moved in? Or do I need to have at least 10 villagers first? Appreciate your help!

You can't throw your camper out, they will disappear after 5am the next day. If you want to use an amiibo, the campsite must be free. You need to invite a camper in Resident Services and invite them for 3 days, (you can time travel) and also have an open plot. After 3 visits you can invite the camper to your island!

I just want to clarify that if there's already a camper in your campsite, you can still invite someone via amiibo the same day, it will kick the camper out.

I believe you need ten villagers first. On my second island I only had 9 villagers (was waiting to place the last plot) and when I tried to invite someone to kick someone else out it wanted me to place the last plot first.

Yes I’m sorry I forgot to say this. I know I have to invite him I do remember there’s no way around that. What I wanna know is if I can amiibo him out immediately as soon as he’s moved in or do I have to max out my plots first? You know, sell all 10 plots first?

Yea I ended up waiting since I knew who I wanted for my tenth plot.
