Now don't get me wrong I love the DLC and I think its great, but right now I am starting to get villagers who keep asking the same themes over and over again. I'm sure I can use the "I've got ideas" option but sometimes I have a hard time coming up with a different theme for them.

Most times I just pair them up with villagers who already have a similar theme that the villager wants. For example Hornsby was asking for a home where he can escape to the Sky and then I find Olaf who says he wants to look at the Night sky which was pretty similar. So I paired them into roommates since they shared the same idea.

What do you guys do when you see villagers that ask for a theme that you've already done for another villager and do you feel like some of the themes the request do get repetitive?

i've done like 5 different colored cottages all using the same furniture with different variations. sometimes the prompt (before you talk to them) isnt specific at ALL so then i just make something up for them

Yeah I do the same thing, but I sometimes have a hard time figuring out what theme to give them. I am not someone who is into the themes so I just go with something basic or simple. Like based on Furniture I choose or a specific color.

With over 400 villagers, it is bound to happen. I've gotten several cafe requests just with a different setting. Or cottages just with different furniture styles. I agree that it can be demotivating, especially when several villagers on the beach happen to ask for similar themes. I just sometimes stop and wait for tomorrow to prevent myself from completely losing interest.

Well there was one theme that stood out to me and that was Daisy. She wanted a home that is like "Santa's home" and so I thought "Well given that we are getting close to Toy Day and Christmas in real life I will do this one" This one at least had something different and I enjoyed making Daisy's home. I even dressed her up as Santa.

Lionel is still the best one for me. "Restroom Refuge" is where it's at.

I know this will sound dumb prolly just because I am nostalgic but I feel like that it took longer to get bored in HHD?????? Or maybe I am just weird it is starting to feel repetitive but I think its just me. I still am enjoying the DLC though! I hope you keep enjoying it too! Even if its a little boring, I just wait until my creativity strikes then ZOOM to my switch and design the most le chic and trendy houses life has ever seen.

Well, yeah. Repetitiveness is inevitable in this game and in most games. I think the main problem is that a lot of us rushed into this DLC or rushed to unlock all of the features, and now we are bored with it. It’s better to take our time and soak everything in to prevent from getting burned out. I know it’s hard to not rush into things, and I completely understand that as a time traveler, but sometimes it’s better to take things slow.

Well if you have amiibo cards it can really make it seem like you're going quick which is one of the reasons why I wanted to try out other villagers hoping to get a different theme. So far I've made over 90 homes so I still have a long way to go.

Thats true. I don't time travel as much anymore since the 2.0 update. Only when if a villager is moving out then I will do it but I don't do it so often. Besides I know there is more stuff to do in the game besides just doing Happy Home Paradise, but again like you said you have to keep playing it if you want to unlock certain features. I know how much of a pain that is considering you have to do so much more just to unlock that feature to customize villager homes on your island.

Yeah. That's why I'm only currently sitting at 62 houses. I've stopped decorating houses for 2 weeks now and started focusing on my island. I've only been going to the archipelago whenever I feel like it.

I havent even unlocked all the features just because I have been so busy with exams 😭 I am only at 21 houses,I cant wait to DESIGN now!!!!!!!!

Well I looked up how far you can go in this game and to be honest all its left is the ranking. I heard that if
you build up to like 200 homes you get Ranked to a "Rookie Designer" and that would let you earn 40,000 Poki which is the highest you can ever earn.

I can give you a tip. If you just build the home with only 3 of the items that the villager wants then you're pretty much done, but it has to be inside the home otherwise the villager will complain about you not doing the interior. Now of course I know that is just cheap since the villagers don't seem to care how well or how bad you design their home, but the option is there if you want to speed up the process. You can go back to it and remodel it if you want once you gotten more items added to your catalog when you build more homes.

This was like my 3rd home request and it KILLED me

Also, I’ve done about 3 toy day/christmas/holiday homes already, but i think they’re fun so i let them all get their own house

Usually when i get repeats I force them to be roommates but sometimes i hate walking through all the dialogue so...I just ignore them and look for something more interesting

Luckily, Once you get to a certain point, you can just use your own ideas so i can just kinda do whatever i want honestly

I stopped for a bit at 31 houses because I wanted to focus on my island and take a little bit of a break from constantly decorating homes.

But it's pretty much bound to happen, where things are going to start to get repetitive. There's only so many designs you can come up with for over 400 villagers XD

I haven't really found it too bad yet, since I haven't really done that many homes. But I can see myself starting to get bored when I start to get similar house design requests when I start playing the DLC again. I think if I take my time, it should be fine. There's no rush to finish a whole bunch of houses. That's how you get burnt out easily. I also will just ask the villager to redesign their house if I did something similar recently and want to do something a little different.

I just paired Flora with Stella because they both ask for a pink themed house.☺

I can't complain tbh, like you said, they gave us the option to pick our own theme so use your imagination to come up with something unique if you want to.

They don't assign any theme to VIP clients as well so you just have to get creative!

Now that I’m far into the game, I kind of just ignore their theme and design based on the villager and/or other ideas I want to try out. It doesn’t really bother me designing similar houses, though. A lot of my houses end up similar especially with villagers with very specific colour schemes (eg. Pink, pastels, etc.) - I always pair them with other pink villagers and make their whole house pink lol. I also kind of appreciate repetitive themes like cafe, book shop, other shop related houses, etc. because it gives me an excuse to design a different type of shop that I can’t fit in my main resort facilities.

Usually when that happens I tend to pair them up as Roommates with another village who asked for a similar theme. Just so I won't have to see them again.
