My name is Raven. I only let people close to me give me nicknames. I have a complicated relationship with them because people at school used to bully me by contorting my name into something horrible.

My boyfriend and I call each other “fren” because it’s short, gender neutral, and cute but not too mushy. He sometimes calls me “ray” or “wren” but mostly just “fren.” It’s reached a point where we rarely say each other’s actual names. I only say his name when I’m angry or having a moment (i.e. “I love you, [actual name].”).

Family members just call me Raven. One of my friends used to call me “Edgar Allan Poe” because of the poem about the raven. Another friend used to call me “dad.” Nowadays, though, I’m just Raven to everyone except my boyfriend.

Some people try to refer to me irl as Flyffel but I usually tell them off because it's just an online nickname for me. I don't have any nicknames based on my real name (Marco), probably because it's very short already. A girl called me by a nickname based on my name in 7th grade though but it's kinda ehh. lol

Also, if you try to call me Polo, you are unoriginal af and you suck. Don't.

I exclusively go by my nickname (Ali). Growing up people used to call me Ali Cat, too, but that doesn't really happen now.

the name everyone knows me by IS a nickname! my real full name is katelynn, but everyone calls me katey. i'm glad cuz katelynn feels very unfitting for me and too professional, i don't like it... as for my username most people call me neo, but every now and then i get called rat/rats! XD

one of my friends calls me "safety" out of habit, based on my old username (safetylance), since i met him somewhere where that was also my username at the time. on another site people tend to call me "stray" because it's a shortening of my username on that one lol

i've also just been going by nicknames for as long as i can remember irl too so the name i mostly use online is a nickname, my full name is pretty long and gets misspelled a lot + i'm not really a big fan of it

Well, my forum username is a nickname though no one actually calls me it anymore in person. People called me it back in school like 11 years ago haha. I do really like it though (considering I still use it on the forum).

I also have several ones that my family members call me but I'm not very fond of any of them.

i dont quite remember how *precisely* it started? pretty sure it had something to do with my favorite gemstone being chrysoberyl (chrys-o-beryl -> c.o.b. -> cob -> corncob). i also had a steven universe fancharacter who was a chrysoberyl, and who farmed corn. so i think it was probably a combination between those things? my partner just sort of started calling me corncob and i only really even noticed that it had become a thing when his little brother was so taken aback by him calling me that one day lol

Yes. My family calls me by my nickname more often than they do by my real name. They sometimes let my nickname slip out when talking to their friends, coworkers, etc. and this causes confusion when I'm introduced to said people.
