Do you have multiple games or multiple houses?

Hi, I'm new to the forum but I've been a long time AC:pG, AC:WW, and now AC:NL player. I am not as extreme in making everything super planned out, because when I did that in WW, I got sooo burned out haha. Anyways I was wondering if it's a common thing amongst super mayors like yourselves to have multiple game cartridges? I was thinking I might just get a second game on my other 3DS where I just time travel constantly and basically just try to farm items/fruit or something.

Also, do you guys have multiple houses just for the sake of having more decorating space? I visited an online town for the first time today and every single house was immaculate and fully upgraded. I was just thinking to myself that this person couldn't possibly have multiple people playing on their game who all put in that much effort.

Thanks for reading, I hope to visit many more towns soon! I can't wait to give away more perfect cherries :) :p

Hey, welcome to Bell Tree. c:

As for your question, personally I have two playable characters in my town and only one ACNL game cartridge. I considered getting a second town many times for cycling purposes but with the Switch game coming out---decided against it. I think that having another house to decorate was a lot of fun! However, it is a bit annoying to switch between characters so I'm leaving it at 2 characters, 2 houses.

I'm not sure if you've seen Yuki/RedTropicalPeachyFish around site yet. She's got 6 towns. :3 I think it's cool how people have the drive to manage multiple cartridges/towns. I get overwhelmed at times with just one town, so it's interesting to see others who can handle such a commitment.

welcome! first I want to say it's so cute how you said "super mayors"

I'm definitely not a super mayor, the most ACNL copies ive ever had at once is two. A physical and digital one, which I barely used. And I only have one house because adding another character is too much work for me.

I only have one town and one house, myself. I definitely understand the appeal of multiple towns, though. The games has strong replay value and its a blast just creating little towns.

I only have 1 town (Azulon) that I put effort into. Azulon has 4 houses. I love having extra decorating space! So many possibilities ^_^. It does get overwhelming though. That's why I just try to take my time and just decorate when I'm feeling inspired. :) I also have 2 extra cartridges but I haven't used them. And I've hijacked my bf's town and turned it into my shop town that I use for selling villagers and also scanning RV's

Welcome! I don't consider myself a 'super mayor' like some others on here who have 3 or 4 or more towns and all of them immaculately planned out. However, I do have one fully completed town now with two characters. The mayor is the character I usually play as, but I had an idea for another, smaller house that I wanted to decorate so I created a second character. I rarely ever play as that character now that I've upgraded everything and gotten his house the way I wanted it.

I do have a second copy of the game. Right now, I'm using it to time travel for weeds to help my mayor in my main town complete her badges. But once, I've gotten the gold weeding badge, I have some ideas for a second town so I'll be starting that up.

Wow! It's cool to hear about all that everyone has done with their town(s) and house(es) haha. I think I'm convinced enough to go pick up another copy in a few days . I'm already brainstorming the best ways to farm bells. I think it's pretty astounding how you guys are even able to commit to creating just ONE perfect town. Like I said, I get all too jaded by all the work and obsessing I end up doing. I'm kind of an obsessive person in real life, so I guess I choose to avoid that when I escape into Animal Crossing lol.

Side note, one of the ideas I just had was to do with the way interest works in New Leaf. Apparently you get 0.5% interest per month, up to 99,999 bells. So that means I would make maximum interest at 19,999,800 bells, which actually isn't even that much... I've got about 3 million right now from spamming the island, which means I'd make about 15k per month. If I time travel 30 years with 3 million bells, I'll earn 5.4 million bells without even accounting for the money cumulatively. One lecture from resetti after setting the clock back 30 years again won't be too annoying, right?

Ahhh... here I go obsessing again!

ive got four towns! one of them is before the Amiibo update
One house for each game.
Names are
Town Kenma- before amiibo update
Town Karasuno
Town Lazy
and Town Amiibo (filled with special amiibo villagers - Epona, Medli, Inkwell, Ganon, W.Link, Cece and Viche!)and the normal villagers I own in that town are Hamlet, Merry and Marcel

I have two towns but I only really play one at a time. I save the date of the time I last played the hiatus town and then go back in time to play it and catch up to the current time.

I honestly wasn't aware multiple towns was something people did. It was crazy to me seeing someone had 8 towns, I can just about focus on one! But I see the appeal of having multiple towns (multiple themes or a cycle town). I think I'd maybe consider another town if I finish complete decoration of my 1st and want to try another theme.

I have two towns which all have 4 characters, but I'm not a "super mayor" and I'm terrible at planning. My first town is from 2013 and it's just a mess. I never reuploaded its dream after the Amiibo update and I still need to get around to cleaning it. My second town got my motivation back (I lost it with how messy the old town was) and I've been trying to work on it a lot more than I did with the old one. I'm not really into landscaping, so there are just random plants everywhere and a few PWPs. Its dream is currently outdated though since I'm waiting for my brother to decorate his now fully paid off house. (Who knows when he'll get around to that?)
Oh, and I forgot to mention my towns don't have themes.

I only have one house in my main town which is a physical game, but I also have a digital copy that was pre-installed on my 2ds xl. I honestly had no intention of actually playing it, but Drago was once again one of my starting villagers and I would feel extreme guilt deleting the game haha. In terms of wild world, I got a second hand copy and child me did not know you could delete the previous person's town so there was stuff everywhere and I did not care really. I never knew what was going on in game either cos I never looked at guides. So no, I don't really have multiple towns with different themes, but I have immense respect for those who upkeep even 2 towns

Not a super mayor--just some one who really enjoyed ACNL and trading.

I have eight towns. The two oldest towns have their houses fully upgraded--seven houses total. Both towns have perfect town status and are Jacob's Ladder farms. Third oldest town is the gold rose and weed farm. The other five towns were mainly used for hybrid flowers/items/patterns storage, item farming, and time-traveling experiments. All eight towns have T&T Emporium and are on different dates.

At one time, I had a physical copy of the game and a digital copy. I gave the physical copy to my little brother and I regret it because he lost it, lol. I have only one town, obviously, but I do wish I had another one, because there have been two types of towns that I've really, REALLY wanted to make (zen-themed like what I'm doing with Fujimori, and a horror town)!

However, since I've just got the one town, I do multiple player houses in it. Right now, I've got three (although only one has any semblance of being actually built right now), and I plan to have a fourth one. Trying to make Fujimori a little community!

I have two copies of the game, but trying to play on both (back in 2016) kind of killed my enjoyment of the game. I only use one copy now that I got back into it. I also only have one character (although I may crack and make a second JUST for path-design-holding purposes) because I like to give all of my time and attention to just one.

i have both and honestly i can't (personally) handle it. i'm so bad at going on to certain characters/towns to make sure nobody's moved or the character's hair doesn't become the bed head and uhgh

i think when ac switch comes out i'll stick with one town and one character (that's how i originally played for a long time in acnl, but then i got all ~~~~creative~~~~ and tried to make themed towns and characters w/ backstories and then it became too much to handle)

I currently have 4 towns, but not all the towns are full of characters. Moriyo has a full 4, Treehut I'm only having 3, Luminosa will have 2, and my next town will have 2 also.

I'm not sure if I fall in that super mayor catagory, but I think other may say I do. I have 2 systems as well, and each of my towns will be themed in some way, some more extreme than others. In Moriyo, I have 4 houses for lots of decorating space, but for the rest of my towns I keep them below 4 to plot reset or just cause 4 is alot of house to maintain.

I really enjoy having multiple towns. I come up with lots of idea for towns, and I like the fact that I can do my top fav ideas.

i only have one town and at this point i think with the switch game coming out (hopefully) soon, i think there's no point in getting a second 3ds game!! i plan to play both switch and 3ds, so i'll have two towns this way. I only have one character in my town, but my little brother might join soon too, and i'd like to have another character for me at some point later, for patterns and stuff
