I think much of their purchase decision also comes down to their financial background. A lot of the Animal Crossing fanbase is filled with younger players, who are more likely to come with a limited amount of funds.
As such, it would be naive to assume that everyone would have enough cash to the point of being comfortable at buying one system and a game.
Excited with the prospect of owning a home console/handheld hybrid hardware with a potentially stellar game library, I own a Switch since March 8th 2017 with a grand total of 14 games (8 retail, 6 download exclusives). And all that, despite myself being picky about which ones to choose.
I do not currently have a Nintendo Switch and was really on the fence about whether I was going to bother getting one due to some poorly thought out design flaws it has, but the reveal of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the trailer for Fire Emblem: Three Houses, how potentially fun Super Mario Party looks, and my love of the Pok?mon series have all swayed me into wanting to acquire one. I'm hoping to get one before December so I can play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at or around launch.
Nope, and I've had Super Mario Odyssey waiting for me, on my game shelf, since October 28th. I can't see myself getting one until late this year, unfortunately.
Nah, not yet. Still waiting for some more Metroid news, but there will come a time where I will eventually bite the bullet and buy one. I'm just waiting for some more bundles, none of the current ones appeal to me.
I got my Switch on the Odyssey release! It was the Super Mario Odyssey bundle and I love that game so much, it's super enjoyable and I worked all summer for save up for it hehe. It was totally worth every cent and time!
No, waiting for a Animal Crossing switch announcement or a Mii game (which might not happen...)
So right now it's just a waste of money for something I'm not going to use for now...
I have one ;D I remember going to GameStop (In July, 2017 I believe) for something, and the guy was like "We have a Switch here, and if you want it, now's the time to get it because they are going to be hard to get from now up to Christmas." So we were like "Ok there's a Mario game coming out and MarioKart is a good game (even if it is repeats of past games), and also there was a Spatoon 2 launch event at the gamestop. We ended up going to the event and got Splatoon 2 (I didn't have the original and didn't really know much about it), and it has been one of my favorite games since
