I prefer listening to music more than podcasts. I never really get into podcasts and kind of just watch YouTube videos for stuff like that and let them play in the background.

I prefer podcasts generally. Not because I dislike music though, I’m very passionate about music but my brain becomes too overstimulated by it. Podcasts are more relaxing for me because my brain isn’t so...activated. I don’t just listen to music, I experience it. I see it as pictures and videos in my mind. I see music scores. I start playing the flute or piano on my fingers involuntarily even if I don’t move my hands. It just happens in my mind. Music is a whole ass experience for me. Maybe it’s an autistic thing? I don’t know.

I listen to music mostly when I’m drawing since gentle background noise helps keep me focused and calm. But I only listen to podcasts in the coloring and shading stages, since, for me, they’re more mindless tasks than sketching or drawing. It just takes more brain focus to draw say something like a hand or face, but when I get to inking, coloring and shading thats when I can turn on a podcast without getting frazzled by how distracting they are for me lol. Listening to stuff with voices is difficult overall especially while I’m doing a task that requires thinking. So I have to stick to classical or just music with no lyrics.

I think I like listening to music and podcasts equally but for different reasons. Sometimes silence is the way to go too tho

Music is all around my day
When im working, studying or going to the gym
My car is always playing some of my favorite bands and osts
Im not very used to listen to podcasts eben tough im alwaysbtrying to

I like listening to both but I like listening to music way more because I like to vibe while multi tasking

I said podcasts but it depends on my mood. I have an hour long commute one way during the week, so it's perfect for listening to podcasts. I love Dungeons and Dragons, so I listen to podcasts on that (Not Another D&D Podcast, Dungeons and Daddies, and The Rotating Heroes Podcast). Sometimes though I just want to listen to music instead of paying attention to a podcast, but it's usually a podcast.

i like both but i tend to listen to music more because it requires less from me? it's easier for me to do things with music in the background because it's not too distracting/doesn't require too much attention but i do enjoy listening to podcasts (like welcome to night vale!!) when i'm doing chores or some other thing that lets me focus on listening and understanding what's being said! they're two different things that i use for different situations i guess so i'm not sure if i can compare them really?

music usually
the only podcast i listen to a lot is mbmbam!

in general I listen to music more because it's easier to do other things at the same time - I can have music on as background noise and yet still concentrate on homework or whatever I'm doing at the time. as much as I want to listen to more podcasts, I end up getting distracted most of the time and focus on either my homework or the podcast. if the task I'm doing requires less effort (like tidying) then I'll happily listen to podcasts

I mostly listen to music. I did try to listen to a podcast once while not doing anything at all and I liked it. Hearing people talk about stuff casually, being natural, and being human sounds refreshing and soothing knowing that we all face struggles at one point in our lives, no matter how successful we are. But that's just going off from one podcast. I don't know about the rest so this is my limited view on them.

i mostly listen to music, simply because i can't always pay attention when listening to podcasts 😅 whenever i listen to podcasts i do so while eating or doing anything where i don't have to concentrate, but anything else i just prefer music :p

Music all the way! I just cant enjoy podcasts, not because of the contents or anything, but because to enjoy them i need to pay atte tion and if i have to pay attention to something that long, id rather be watching or playing something instead of just listening bc i find that boring... Maybe its an adhd thing haha

I prefer music by a landslide, but I do listen to podcasts occasionally. There are a few unofficial podcasts, I suppose, that are strongly related to positivity and motivation. I’ll listen those, and they help a lot with my self-confidence. There are some podcasts that can be boring, so I can understand why they aren’t for everyone. I prefer upbeat and fast-paced music, as well. It definitely helps keep me moving.

I love both. Music can do so may things, help relax me, help energize me, bring back memories, etc. Podcasts are fun because I can learn new things or listen to podcasts about my many interests like my faith, Nintendo switch, Pokémon, Animal Crossing, educational and/or motivational stuff, narrated true horror stories, etc. I love to listen to podcasts while I'm doing something else like playing ACNH, it really helps me relax and focus.

I've never really been able to get invested into a podcast, but music is different, the beats, instruments, and rythm just does something and i can easily boost my mood by listening to the right thing.
