Do you need something to help you sleep each night?

I need a pitch black room to sleep. Even small amounts of light can wake me up. I also need white noise to sleep because I wake up very easily from any sorts of noises. Birds starting chirping at dawn, neighbors waking up absurdly early to go to work and starting their car, the garbage truck rumbling down the street once a week at 6am, sudden rain in the middle of the night, frogs croaking at night in the summer in my area, etc are all problems for me. I use the white noise to help drown it out. Even with the white noise I still wake up sometimes wake up because of sounds, but at least it makes it happen less often.

No matter how old I get, I absolutely NEED my dolphin stuffed animal. I've had it since I was like 2 and I can't go to sleep without it, I also travel with it. Some nights I'll snuggle with it too for extra comfort if I'm feeling restless, anxious or had a bad dream I sound like such a child I'm 22 I swear

While these aren't necessary as I've slept without them before, I usually need a cold room with an AC running, both for temp and noise. Also 2 blankets. One to cover most of my body, feet must be absolutely covered even thou I normally refuse to wear socks, and another to cover my upper body and almost all my head. I'll cover all of my head except a small portion of my face will be exposed. I really like blankets😅

Also a small light so when I come down the ladder of my bed I can actually see where I'm going in my room. I trip on nothing and I have bad nigh vision (objects that I know aren't moving look like they move, sometimes shadows look like they move too) so I'll def trip on somethin in the dark.

Ofcourse there are times I've spelt without an AC or blankets. Lights I still sometimes still have even if the power is out. They'll usually be glow sticks or somethin like that. Since the power is out, it also leads also to a hot room and blankets are certainly no help then.

A plushie I hold every night. Its soft but also firm so it’s nice to just have between my arms like I’m holding something, it also just makes it easier to place and rest my arms to fall asleep since that’s something my body struggles with being hyper active in the night hours

I usually don't have trouble falling asleep, I have low HP so I fall asleep pretty easily... 🤣 let's say I'm not the best person to call if you're having an emergency. But when I have trouble sleeping and I don't want to take pills or if my mind is rushing and I need to calm down I like to play rain sounds on Alexa or my phone

It can take me a while to fall asleep sometimes and there have been times where I can't fall asleep at all. But I pretty much always have a noisemaker so I can fall asleep easier.

This probably doesn't count because almost everyone does it but I just find it interesting
It's a lot easier for me to sleep when I'm covered in a thicc blankie comforter, even if it's hot, and I can't really explain why
I could still be wearing my clothes from the day and I still want to feel covered up, without it it feels like I'm not really in bed

Also, I share a bed with my sister, and hugging each other helps us both sleep

And on a side note, whenever I'm lying in bed thirsty, I always feel hot even if I'm uncovered in a cooler room and it just sucks, so I try to drink water before bed if I forgot to drink more regularly that day so that I feel cooler

it depends on how bad my nightmare disorder is acting up,

like if my nightmares get so bad to the point that I am too scared to fall asleep then that's when I have trouble getting any sleep
I do take medication for it but they still happen regardless. but still the meds help them from getting as bad as they used to be.

but other then that on other nights where it's not acting up I sleep just fine.

Yes, I like to fall asleep with music or people talking on streams/ long YouTube videos. It gives me something to focus on otherwise I'd get lost in my thoughts and be awake all night. I also like having the room pretty dark if possible but it doesn't bother me too much if there is a little light.

My Baby Blanket that I've had since I was a child lmao
Even at 22 I can't sleep without it quq
Also I can't really sleep with ASMR anymore unless I accidentally fall asleep by accident
But really just my blanket haha

If I'm crazy tired, I could plop down and sleep anywhere.

Otherwise, it needs to be completely silent or I'll have trouble falling asleep.

I like fans too and use them some nights.

I take melatonin 10 mg, apigenin, GABA. Husband sometimes takes melatonin, too, but lately takes NyQuil because he also has allergies. NyQuil and other antihistamine-based medications can be effective sleep aids (Unisom).

Oh and we also have a white noise generator. I love the noise as it reminds me of the humidifiers I had as a child. Husband got one for his tinnitus.

yeah I have a hard time falling asleep too. Most times it takes 1 hours for me to fall asleep but that’s normal for some people.

I always meditate and that helps me to calm down.

I need to have some light to sleep peacefully, so turning the TV on with no volume helps.

Another thing is my action figure of the Mario Kart 8 Male Villager that I got way back in 2016 when I first laid eyes on it, you know how much I love him, very much want him in more games.
So yes, I have a hard time sleeping without him.

There's nothing I absolutely need as I can fall asleep in most scenarios, especially if I'm extremely tired. I've fallen asleep on concrete, in well-lit/dark and loud rooms, and without blankets. Of course, not the best sleep I've had in any of these scenarios. 😅

The best helper for me to fall asleep quickly and stay asleep throughout the night is a cozy sheet or blanket to cocoon myself in. I love snuggling up and nuzzling my nose against soft fabrics.

I need it to be COLD. I don't sleep very well if I'm overheated. I'll toss and turn and wake up several times during the night.

At night my husband uses me as a heater, and I use him as an icebox. We pair pretty well together.

I usually have Nickelodeon on every night to help me get to sleep. Usually they air a bunch of 90s cartoons and it's super nostalgic. Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Rocko's Modern Life, classic SpongeBob, etc. It's probably the only reason I use cable to be honest ... 😓
I also take some sedatives some nights but the only problem with that is the fact that they make my memory really quite foggy.

No matter the weather, the fan on my nightstand is always on. The white noise has always been a must for me. It's wayyyy too quiet without it.

hahaha same here with me and my husband! He loves my warmth and he cools me down.

i alwayss have to have some kind of covering on me, which is very inconvenient in the summer when it's a million degrees and yet i still need to have something at least across my midriff. i also much much prefer to have some kind of pillow or stuffed toy to rest my arm on/around because it's just a lot more comfortable
