Do you read reviews?

Not really for movies or TV shows, I go by general word of mouth for those. Reviews for games I often do like to read reviews for more in-depth insights into things, and definitely for products, restaurants, those sorts of things - I think they can make the difference between a good experience and a bad one.

I do read and watch reviews for videogames all the time. It just makes it easier to decide if it is for me or not!

I like to look at reviews! I just like to see what other people have to say. I'll still probably watch the movie or try the business out for myself though.

Plus I read the reviews for my job daily. If I get mentioned by name in a review, my boss gives me five dollars per five stars 😅

i love reading steam reviews for games for purely the entertainment value. they don't really sway me one way or another though. i personally also like video reviews for games as u can see gameplay and such. otherwise i usually go into most things like tv shows, movies, etc. blind.

I read reviews with a grain of salt, it really depends on the topic at hand.

Restaurants and such? 100% read reviews, and weed out what is clearly people upset over ludicrous things.
Movies? I prefer video reviews over written after, just to see how others took the movie and if I missed anything.
Products at the store? No, if I dislike something that's that, reviews for that stuff never even come to mind.

I prefer going into movies and shows blindly but I have to read reviews for purchases before I screw myself over LOL

I do sometimes. I don't watch things often, but I think I've definitely read reviews before. I never go very in depth though, I usually only like getting an idea of what other people think and don't need all the details most of the time. I'm usually okay with giving things a chance and forming my own opinion, but if it's something I've been really iffy about for whatever reason, I think I've resorted to reading reviews.

Yeah, I like to read reviews on steam and see what others have to say about games. I've seen some hilarious ones so it's worth looking. I've written over 50+ reviews myself! I like to give my general thoughts on games after I beat them and sometimes, I try to be a bit humorous. But yeah it's nice to leave good reviews for indie games I love.

not usually for things like movies and tv shows, sometimes i will read a short part of a review but it doesn’t really ever change my mind about watching something. if i’m purchasing something quite expensive, like an electrical product, i’m more likely to check out the reviews to try and decide which product suits me the best and is most worth the money.

I usually do, but ore often than not they make me MORE insecure rather than helping. If there are only super positive ones I'm like "they must be fake" and if they are negative, it makes me not want to buy that thing xD

If I'm planning to buy something expensive or a game I'm not particularly familiar with (be it a board game or a video game), I do read reviews. I also enjoy watching anime reviews regardless of if I'm planning to watch an anime or not. I really like YouTube videos where several new anime shows are reviewed!

For shows, rarely—I usually just go by what I've heard people say about them, then I look at summaries/content warnings to see if it's something I might be interested in. I look at gaming reviews more often before getting games, but generally just from a few specific bloggers whose tastes generally align pretty well with my own, and then decide from there. Sometimes I adore games that only have lukewarm/mixed reviews, so I don't base my decision around reviews entirely.

I also look at product/seller reviews often before buying something online. I want to make sure I'm buying from someone who seems trustworthy, and if I can't physically examine an item myself, then I definitely want to hear from people who have. It can still be a little hit or miss, but I'm usually pretty happy with my online shopping experiences so it's not a step I'll skip out on.

I do but more so for purchases. I don’t want to buy something and it to be poor quality 😅

I tend to watch/read reviews of movies specifically after watching, never before. Mainly to compare thoughts and see if I agree with any points made. I try to avoid reading reviews before watching, in case I end up having a bias opinion throughout the movie.

I do! I love reading reviews of things to see what others thought. When I had a new game arriving when I was younger I would binge reviews and get sooooo excited about it. Now, I like hearing what people have to say about products before I buy them.

I feel like most times I don't and just go into things blind since I don't mind not knowing the details before watching something.

Yes, just to see what I may be getting myself into. I’m not a fan of the unknown. Also, it’s great to use with kids, to make sure if things are appropriate for them or not.

Yes especially if it’s something I’m paying money for. Switch games especially are expensive at $80 before taxes each. I do still think for myself though if someone is being really critical of something I think how much that really means to me specifically. As sometimes they are being overly harsh.

I do for certain things! Makeup, games, electronics, and things of that nature I like to make sure are actually worth the money.

For things like books & movies if I'm intending to watch/read them I try to avoid reviews. I'll make sure there's no big trigger warnings but otherwise I like to go in blind! Sometimes people spoil things without intending to (telling me there's a big twist I won't expect is a spoiler for me).

Sometimes I like watching reviews even after I've purchased something just for the validation of being told it's a good product, lol.
