Do you sleep with the windows open or closed?

I keep my windows closed. Im very allergic to pollen so if I don't want to wake up every hour to sneeze 62 times I have no choice but to keep the widows closed unfortunately.

No. In seasons that are not summer, I’ll air out my room in the morning or night as needed. I also live next to a busy road, so I wouldn’t want to breathe in that pollution all night long.

Closed. All the time.
I'm not sure if it's from my chronic anxiety or my paranoia. I always fear someone will get a really big ladder, climb up to my window, and get in my room that way and hurt me. I have an air conditioner and a fan if it gets hot. So my windows are always closed when I'm asleep. ;;

i sleep with my windows open during the summer! i like my room to be cool when i sleep! fortunately i live on the second floor and my bedroom faces the private garden so i don't feel unsafe doing this

I guess it depends on the weather. It gets really humid where I live so opening a window and letting that hot dampness in can be kinda gross. Having my bedsheet stick to me from that, no thanks. It's nice to have a window open to let some cool breeze in, but again where I live that's only like a little bit of Spring. It gets from brutal winter to hot humid summer really fast. Blink and you'll miss the spring weather. It's kind of lame how short-lived it is every year.

Closed unless it’s hot out since I live near a bunch of people and can hear noise outside even late at night.

Closed and locked. Safety always comes first! I also live in a tropical climate with mosquitoes ever-present so yeah, always closed.

Forgot to mention that. I don't live anywhere tropic, but between the humidity and mosquitoes it's better to keep them closed lol. Especially when all the little biting bugs come out.

i keep them open all the time and only close them when i really have to!! (like when i turn on the aircon, or if it's really really noisy outside). it's really hot so closing the windows makes it soooo stuffy inside 😭

when i leave the house though i make sure to always close the windows. idk im afraid rain will get in

my windows don't open but i do not like the idea of having my windows open, so closed.

unless i lived on a second floor (at minimum) with windows that can actually open, then i'd probably have the windows at least cracked open.

During the summer having the windows open feels necessary, as It becomes too hot and stuffy otherwise. As long as there is a screen and no chance of bugs sneaking in I prefer the windows open.

The windows stay closed for the majority of the year, except when it gets too hot, which is typically but not necessarily exclusively in the Summer months. It depends on the day though; some days it's not necessary.

I would love to sleep with open windows. I have for most of my life. But we are currently living in a rural area, and there are people who burn their trash at night. It's gross, illegal, and we have really cheap sanitation services, so I don't know why they do it. It's annoying because I loooove open windows, but ew, i don't want to breathe that mess. So it's windows closed.

There are some nights with clear air, no burning, so i keep the window open then (if not scorching or snowing haha). But I wish i could more often.

Oh god I hate that. I have a neighbor who burns dirty smelling wood and also trash. Even with my window closed with it being an open field and a good bit of wind it wafts right into my house/room. And they do it all the time. Some people just grow up being trash.

It's so gross when it's a bunch of plastics. And yes, it comes in our house, too. And we have so many nice weather days and nights that would be perfect for open windows! When i win the lottery, I'm living somewhere with clean air, and lots of windows. 😂

I should probably buy a ticket now and then.

So I don't have windows in my room but a sliding glass door and a screen door, so when the weather is nice and it's not going to be all that hot I will sleep with my sliding glass door cracked slightly open (it's locked, and it's not open wide enough for a person to fit through) but when we have the AC on I have to keep my door closed, or if the heat turns on I will have to close my door. I do like being able to have my room get fresh air in it though. I definitely always have a fan going.. even when it is cold outside/inside.

when i'm at home, i always have a small window open just for airflow and the house gets really warm. in my first year of uni i kept the window open in the summer when i slept because my accom was so hot, but the last few years i've always slept with it closed, both because of how loud it is and also just the general safety of the area. i like sleeping with the window open, but it's not worth the risks at uni so i'll just have the window open throughout the day instead

As a teenager, my bed was up against the window and the window didn't quite close, so I grew to really like the feeling of cold air passing over my warm bed while I was sleeping. Sometimes I would open the window in spring or fall (and sometimes even winter) to feel the air moving. I liked to sit and read or do homework next to the open window, and my bedroom has always been a second floor room, which feels pretty safe. And there's still a screen in place to prevent something/someone from just pushing their way in.

I live with two other people now, and share a bedroom with my partner, so I don't tend to open the window so much any more. As an adult I'm more aware of the energy bill. Our roommate does often burn rice when he's not paying attention, so uh . . . we sometimes open the windows for survival purposes as it takes the house a few days to air out.

In summer it is WAY too hot to even consider it, and large parts of winter are far too cold. But this thread is reminding me how much I enjoyed open windows as a youth. I'm a very outdoorsy person--maybe this fall I'll remember to open the windows for a few days!
