A question inspired by the emotional toy story 4 xD
Most of mine are boxed up now, except for some plushies on my bed. Though i could definitely still take the other plushies out every once in a while to hug, I don't think I could play with my old pollypocket dolls anymore. Their faces look kind of strange to me now (maybe due to age?). Wondering what toys you all had and if you still keep them around!
Nope. We had so many due to many kids. We kept all that crap all over our basement but had to throw them all out due to it being flooded. It took hours lmao
I still have some of them, along with some videogames from the 2000's era that I still play to this day. When I was a child, I was a big fan of Spongebob. I made a lot of memories with this Spongebob themed ball, but I haven't seen it anywhere as of late. The last time I saw it was in the basement, so it must be hiding somewhere lol. I also have toy trains, a remote controlled kart of Mario driving, a mini rc Yoshi, all displayed in a glass case. I used to have a mega bloks themed toy piano, but it was given away years ago. It's nice to see it every once in a while as it gives me so much nostalgia back to my younger days.
I moved out of my parents house when I started college, but I still take my fox plush Percival with me wherever I travel. Him and a few small exceptions aside, my mom is keeping everything boxed up in the basement as well. I?m glad I don?t have to deal with it tbh?I have a hard time throwing out anything with a face on it. lol
I have my crocodile plush that my dad bought me when I was around 4 ish, still sleep with it lol
Other than that my two bunny plushies my aunt bought me when I was around 5, very very fond memories! Keep those in my closet. My mom insisted on keeping all other toys that didn't have much attachment to us, like this old purple barney banjo that for some ungodly reason still works. Recently my dad gave me his stuffed teddy bear that he had as a child, very cool of him, and you can definitely tell its age haha
I still have a teddy bear from when I was four years old (so, 1995)... I still cuddle it at night and I'm.. old, haha. I still remember the day I got it as it was around Christmas time and the bear was a donated item for families in poverty. It's all very sentimental, aaah.
I don't have all of them but I have the ones I'm too attached to to get rid of. (Which is still a lot...) I got rid of things like Polly Pockets, Bratz, Barbies, most of my Littlest Pet Shops (I kept all the frogs) but I have a lot of stuffed animals and a few other things
I still have all of my toys (still in school & not moving out anytime soon hopefully)
But when I do move out, I'll probably throw most of them away and keep my build-a-bears/plushes.
I have a few, but the 2 that come to mind are the oldest ones, a Wishbone the Dog stuffed animal that's older than I am (20+) and a dolphin stuffed animal that I probably got at 2 or 4 years of age, idek how old it is. Call me childish but whenever I got out of town, esp if I have to stay in a hotel room for the night, I HAVE to bring the dolphin stuffed animal with me, there is NO WAY I can leave it at home even to this day.
I remember one time as a kid I was punished for somethin. As a punishment my parents would have me sit on an empty bed with nothing for hours on end; no blankets, stuffed animals, not sure if I had pillows. When it was time to go to sleep they gave me back my dolphin but nothing else cause I was still being punished, but I refused to go to sleep without it.
I have a bunch of my old stuffed animals and dolls because I collect them now and held onto my favorite ones from childhood. But my dad was always having yard sales when I was growing up and he made my brother and I get rid of our old toys once we no longer played with them. We did have a ton of toys, though, because my grandma would buy us everything we could possibly want, so I can't really blame him for wanting to make room in the house. Some of them would still be nice to have now, though, either because of the fond memories or because they're really rare and valuable.
Yeah but I was forced to pack them up and store them (a few are easy access tho) even my favorite one, it's a white parrot and I named her, it's spelt wrong but I decided to keep her name that way when I had to get a new bed a year or two ago (the one I used to have was really old and if I remember correctly it was creaking) I wanted to keep her with me but I had to store her away becouse she was "too dirty" she wasn't really that dirty...
I haven't actually thrown out any of my childhood toys. That being said, a lot of them have been packed away in my basement. I only have my favourites still in my bedroom.
