I do, some of them at least. Mostly plushies - I really liked those as a child (and admittedly still do) so I've gathered a huge number of them over the years. Most of them are currently in boxes in the garage though. We've also saved the legos that my brother and I used to play with.
Aww I can't wait to see that movie!!
Most of my old toys are gone and I miss them. just not enough to pay ridiculously high scalper prices for. xc
I especially loved my sam cereal mascot frog though I never liked or willignly bought the cereal. I slept with it every night and hugged it when I was sad. Even though it was old and tattered I never stopped liking it. It went missing after I left it with my cat in the vet so my scent hopefully wouldn't make him feel abandoned.
I was so mad. I know I'd still have that plushie if it weren't for that xc.
I had a bunch of bk mcdonalds toys i liked too. I liked action figures more than dolls as a kid. Dolls were nice too I played with them and begged my mom for them but action figures never had bad hair after a lot of uses.
I had a ton of pokemon cards I looked at every single day and yugioh cards I threw away because my uncle convinced me they were the work of satan. uwaaa!!! I regret throwing away so many things because they were all "satanic" and stuff. arrgh!! xc
It's true the bible says you shouldn't set aside treasures for yourself on earth or love material over god, but if you read it also says the earth is the center of the universe and way worse things than hoarding earthly possesions.
I just wish I had the knowledge then or bothered to read it :, (
I basically have almost nothing from my childhood as a result
now I box my plushies and squshies and every so often go through them to lift my mood.
~v~ I've become like big al in a way.
Ah
aw man I can relate to conservative religious relatives @ __ @ my mom made me stay away from Harry Potter as a kid
I'm sorry you lost your favorite toy :c I still think it was really sweet that you left it with your cat though, I'm sure it made him feel better
I'm always happy to hear I'm not alone in the way I was raised. thank you for your reply. a huge mood lifter.
in 2nd grade my best friends mom took us to build a bear and we all made bears but the hello kitty one i wanted was limited edition and cost more than the other bears but i didnt care bc hello kitty was and still is my life. so while everyone else’s bears had clothes and sound boxes mine was just a naked hello kitty NAMED hello kitty skskdjksdisks i loved it to death and it sits on a shelf in my room today
me and my bestie from 2nd grade actually got back in contact a while ago and when we got to the build a bear birthday topic what she had ro say was “lmfao my dog chewed it up a few years ago” and tbh i felt a little embarrassed that i still have mine. of course i lied and said it just got lost when we moved
