Boys or girls, it doesn't matter; do you straighten your hair? If so, how often? Just wondering because for some years it was the "in" thing to do but now there are a lot of luscious and wavy hairstyles trending. Does your hair require straightening or are you blessed with natural cascading curls? Or maybe it's naturally straight! :)

For the longest time (and I mean years) I used to straighten the entirety of my hair after washing it but recently I've decided to only straighten the front plus my fringe/bangs, and it's honestly saving me SO MUCH TIME. It's amazing. I'm starting to recover some of the length from having it cut so the weight of it keeps it from getting too crazy at the back, now it just sits in nice little twirls and I feel like I should've been doing this sooner. . -.

I was always pressured and basically forced to straighten my hair. It always looked amazing when I was done but because of my naturally wavy hair, it would undo in wind, heat or rain so it was almost pointless. Now I just rock my natural waves. ^^
edit: I even stopped blowdrying my hair. It's been a blessing tbh. No more heat on this head!

I use to straighten my hair everyday. I am 'blessed' with frizzy hair so it always took the frizz out.

Now because I am lazy and don't always wash my hair every morning I use a deep waver - it gives like beachy waves. It doesn't take me as long as it does to straighten, and it hides my greasy hair.

No, my hair's practically straight with just the slightest wave to it towards the bottom so straightening it would be near pointless. Not to mention heat damages your hair and I don't want to use any more on mine other than blowdrying it.

Also I don't want my hair to look flat and lifeless.

I straightened my hair every day for school from 2010 to June 2014. Now I never straighten it. I don't care if my hair looks awful. It's just way too long.

I do it like twice every week.
My hair is hella long and wavy so it takes like 30 minutes

I don't think I've ever straightened my hair before. My hair is naturally straight! :) My hair does have some waves to it though, due to me putting some of my hair behind my ears.

I used to on most days, but stopped caring pretty quickly. I also used to wear make-up more often. Even wore eyeshadow for school lol.

occasionally. my hair is naturally wavy and thick though so it takes awhile ;;

I don't straighten it often, but I just (semi) straightened it a few hours ago ^-^

when i had longer hair i would straighten my hair every day
i have really annoyingly frizzy and wavy hair, so it was the only way to get it to calm down xD

i try not to straighten it too much now though :D

For a few years I would straighten my hair literally every day, to the point where I had convinced classmates my hair was naturally straight. Only recently in the last year I have stopped giving a damm. I have very thick curly hair, its rather unmanageable when its not straight but It would take me 2 hours to straighten it. Now my hair routine is simply shampoo, condition and then when its drying add some hair oil stuff and let it do its thing. Everyone has said it looks better straight so I sometimes do it for special occasions but my hair is so much healthier now that I rarely straighten it

This thread made me wanna straighten my hair again, for once, and it felt great lol.

I straightened my hair all the time in school, that on top of back combing it and bleaching it and dying it all the time it pretty much was this straw like strands of frizzy tragedy. After that phase I chopped it all off and only straighten it now every once in a while, but I always get help because I can't for the life of my get it all of it, it's way too long and I'll end up with a knot in my back from trying to do it myself. XD So if I ever do want straightened hair I have my sister do it.

my hair is wavy & i usually keep it that way unless it gets really messy, especially at the top

I have very thick, curly hair that's natural. I've never straightened it, okay maybe once when I was a young teen but like it did absolutely nothing. Yes it got rid of the curl but it didn't get rid of the thickness and it still retained the same shape except uglier. I basically looked like a witch haha! I like to keep my curly hair short, about neck length. It's a lot easier to brush that way and doesn't tangle as easily then long curly hair does. Plus I've never liked the feel of long hair. I like being open and freeee.

nope!
when I was way younger... like, almost 10 years younger... my brother's girlfriend at the time straightened it twice. it felt really weird both times. I think my hair would look better straight while being short as it is now, but I wouldn't do it myself. I'm really clumsy and would probably burn myself. :x
