In March, yes. Then it'll reappear again at the E3 Direct where they'll wrap up coverage with a release date announcement.

Because it's already February and we still haven't heard anything. This is the year the game is supposed to be released.

Calm down, it's only February. We didn't know a single thing about Smash Bros Ultimate until March last year, then it launched 9 months later. Chill.

I think it will show up. Maybe the reason the Direct is taking awhile to happen is because they are ensuring they can get proper teasers/trailers of every game, including AC.

It's more or less Nintendo waiting for the current Fiscal Year to end before shifting focus on to FY2019, which begins in April.

I am expecting at least a mention of where the game is progress-wise since it is suppose to coming out this year if it is a general direct. Any footage shown would be a bonus for me honestly.

Yeah same, I feel like it would be kind of odd if they announced it a couple months ago and then don't say anything. Maybe an update on where we're at and possibly a title?

Well we already are one month into 2019, if they won't show off a game that they confirmed is coming this year I think we're gonna be confronted with a delicious delay.

But that won't happen right, RIGHT?????

Yes, but the teaser for Animal Crossing was originally planned for september 6th wasn't it? So if it would be the exact same situation as Smash that'd mean Animal Crossing would come out sometime in June. But with Smash we got confirmed E3 coverage very early on and we still don't know ANYTHING about Animal Crossing. So this isn't the same and that logic cannot be applied here

Hm, ok, but there are still 10 months to go, February isn't over either so there is still time to
say something about it in a Direct and release it. I would understand you more at this point
if we have it already September or October, but we are just at the beginning of 2019. Also,
we didn't got any informations of Luigi's Mansion 3 or Bayonetta 3 as well and nobody says
that they getting delayed too.

I wouldn't lose the hope just that quick. I know, the wait sucks, but yeah. The game will
come out this year, all what we need is just the information from Nintendo and that could
be that one Direct everyone wants since January...

AHEM Bayonetta 3 was never confirmed for a 2019 release and it may very well come out in 2020 as the development for the game only just started when the game awards covered it.

First of all, don't compare one release to the other. Nintendo doesn't work like that. As the current situation shows, just because they do something one way the previous year doesn't mean they will do it the same the next.

The difference here is that Nintendo is still heavily focused on wrapping up their 2018 Fiscal Year, which ends next month. They, without saying as much, have kinda painted this picture of them not talking about anything beyond FY18.

They have a lot to talk about this year and even more to release. Fire Emblem, Luigi, Animal Crossing and Pok?mon, even though the latter is less on Nintendo as Game Freak operates on their own schedule.

They also confirmed as much at their investors Q&A that nothing that had been slated for 2019 has been delayed.

Well, to be honest, I didn't keep track with Bayonetta and wasn't sure about it's development
at this point, my bad.

Anyway, 2019 is just at it's beginning and I find it a little bit strange that people start to think
that the game could be delayed. I have the feeling that some people getting worried ever since
Nintendo delayed Metroid Prime 4 and thinking the same could now happen with other games.
I mean, come on guys, let's just not losing hope and wait. On Twitter, there are now rumors
for a Direct on Valentine's day. Would it be a lovely present from Nintendo if this is true...

I know but that was exactly what you were doing so that's why I wanted to point out that that comparison didn't make sense.

Nah don't worry about it :p

I don't truly think we're going to get a delay. Especially cause a direct is coming later today! Hopefully they'll show off Animal Crossing :D

I'm expecting it so much that I'll be let down if no news.

I hope so but I'm prepared for disappointment

I expect to at least hear something about it. It would be kind of odd for them to announce something after so long, and not proceed to give further updates. That being said, I don't have my hopes up too high. Depending on which time of the year they release it we might not receive many details until E3.

Of course I have no way of knowing for certain, so I guess we just have to wait and see.

Yeah, I'm expecting it. Or at least I'm hoping it (of course, lol). Let's just cross our fingers and hope!

Upset that all our predictions were wrong, but hopefully the next one they will show! It only means they are perfecting for the game. Still excited

Weird, I was expecting at least something about it. Oh well, I'm not too mad considering Civ 6: Gathering Storm releases in approximately 4 hours. No one can take that away from me.

Nintendo has "disappointment" in their game. It's a shame AC has to be developed by them.

Is there anyone in specific who you think would be better? I agree Nintendo doesn't always make the best decisions but compared to a lot of other companies they're quite decent at the moment. If AC was developed by another company I think there's a good chance they would have turned it into a Sims 4 cash grab by now.
