We could always dream, we could have a hope, but at the end of the day we need to face a reality.im torn between my hopes and wishes and the reality of the situation and then also a third option: Nintendo doesn't care
New Leaf was slightly different. We had "living area" with permanent buildings with place where occasional events took place. On the top of this we had a "main street" where all remaining building been located and this area could be expanded / upgraded, to limit designed by developers obviously. Someone may say, but in last (final) update we got camping site - yes, we did, but this wasn't related to Nintendo kindness, but they noticed it's a chance to got more money, just for Amiibo.hopes and wishes: it would make me so happy to have more buildings. i feel like i suck at making nice, small areas when decorating my island and so to have another building to place would kind of make that a bit easier. and if u think about it we technically had like 5 whole buildings we could have in our towns in new leaf (but we also only had up to 4 play characters we could create).
However, idea of living area in New Leaf was designed in a way giving opportunity to expand this, as it has been done.
ACNH gives us an island, island with same, strict size. There's no additional area to put something, there's nothing but sea / ocean around our island.
Please note, merchants like Leif just appears on strict area, similar to NL - but in NL we got this area for other characters. Please note, Label is currently like "homeless", just coming with luggage and just staying all day. K.K. got a chair with set of simple chairs for audience which is really step back comparing to Club LOL.
Some may say, a town hall could be changed into sky scrapper and put more inside, or just add a basement to museum, add a room for a hedgehog sister or whatever we may please, but it still will be a wishful thinking.
Yes... and no. If we remember first Animal Crossing for GameCube, lighthouse was accessible - but now, we got an item. Could it be accessible? Sure, it can - but it will not.the reality: it would probably be a Bad Move to add another building in an update because players who have already perfectly planned and made their islands would suddenly need to redesign things and that's massively stressful. also we can have up to 18 characters on our islands and idk if having the maximum amount of characters leaves u with enough space to decorate nicely.
But... if Nintendo would care, there still some options - for example - adding an underground area, with same size as an island... but this will not happen.
Some developers making games with really long support, releasing updates for years. Examples: "No Man's Sky", "Terraria", "Stardew Valley", but Nintendo never does such a thing... unless it will comes as a paid DLC (Breath of the Wild).Nintendo doesn't care: Nintendo will do what Nintendo wants (exhibit a: look at the poster fiasco) and so we just have to cross our fingers and hope they do what we want as well
I had a prediction about fall update and this was fulfilled in almost 100%. This time, what we waiting will be almost the same.i dont think the cafe will be a separate building simply because datamining has shown that it will be in the museum i believe. but i hope that other potential buildings that can be added are their own separate building. i still think it would be cool to have a strip mall of buildings but that is most likely just a me thing
We will got two NPC's - located in same area (city hall), two events, some recipes and maybe... but maybe... something added to relations between player and villagers, like visiting what we may remember from NL.
Nintendo pretends giving us "free updates" - but what we got is just what should be included in full release. I do understand, they tried to keep game to be hyped, at least for one year and this works.
I have a feeling, the following update will be a final one (plus some fixes) and this will be over... or if we will got updates, will be paid DLC.
