Don’t count on a lot of new villagers

Today New Horizons has been datamined by a couple people on twitter and with them counting the villager models they are expecting anywhere from 5 to 8 new villagers. I...certainly was expecting more. What do you guys think?

I mean, that’s fine! There’s already a lot of villagers anyway. It’s not like one person has been friends with every single villager in the game. (If you are, then I applaud you for that.) Personally, I don’t trust those who get their information via dishonest methods so I’d keep a little bit of hope that even if there aren’t many now that there is the possibility of Nintendo dropping new ones.

I’m not extremely surprised. The New Leaf cast was well loved. If they added a ton of new villagers, they probably would’ve had to cut some of the existing ones.

Honestly I'm not super disappointed. I'm wondering if they will allow villagers like Ganon and Marty that were available through any of the amiibo figures, sanrio cards, or camper cards. Who knows, maybe more will be introduced through updates??

I really am kinda bummed about this honestly, it’s such an underwhelming amount. One of my favorite aspects of Animal Crossing are the villagers and I was excited to see a lot more. Maybe more will be introduced in updates or something but like :/

383 was confirmed from amiibo cards, so if there's 391 models, that's 8 new.

We've already seen 4 male: blue goat (Sherb), jock sheep (Dom), red elephant (?), heterochrom cat (Raymond)

We've already seen 4 female: peppy wolf (Audie), space cub (Judy), purple bear (Megan), uchi horse (Reneigh)

So we've seen all the new ones. I kind of figured as much considering how prominently they were all featuring in advertising...and no others.

I believe that amiibo villagers might have been included in that count.

So, they took out villagers? New Leaf had 333 before WA, there were 50 WA added, that brings us to 383. We already know of several new villagers, so it should exceed 383, unless they decided to remove some.

I don't mind. We're going to have tons of villager options. The 8 new villagers we've seen all look great too and they already have a lot of fans.

383 is the old villager count. It does not include the new villagers in that.

I think it's a bit of a missed opportunity not to round up from 391 to 400 by adding 9 more Uchis (for a total of 10 new Uchis) considering there are so few Uchi villagers AND we all have to start with them! It'd give the game more variety at the beginning to add more.

They can't find some furniture series, either (Roccoco, Robot, etc.)

I hope they're added in future downloads...

I'm not clicking any links in fear of spoilers, because people've been saying that some are somehow getting the game early. Yikes.
But... no, I'm not disappointed if we only get a few new villagers or even none at all. I love the villagers we have and while it would be nice and fun to have new ones, it wouldn't make me want to play or enjoy the game any less than if we had 100 new ones.

There's already so many. The fact they brought back ALL previous villagers, including RV villagers (barring special Amiibo ones), is good enough for me. They added a few more on top of that.
