Ever feel judged for who you have?

Err, somewhat? I don't really play online with anyone but a old friend. I do think about her negative thoughts on some villagers I've had or have. I recently let go of Wolfgang (her fave on my island) and kept Groucho. (she hates the bears) So it isn't enough thought to decide for me who I do or don't have.

For randoms? I get a kick out of it. So many sheep that want the "S tier popular villagers" which shouldn't even exist in the first place. (the tiers, the animals are fine)

Sheldon is ugly and low tier? Bruh, that sheep named Dom's face looks ridiculous with those bug eyes.
Sherb is the best Lazy? Have you seen that his weird bean shaped head? He's good for a Goat, but that's not saying much though. Filbert is the far superior blue emperor of Lazy with a far superior interior home design.
Cats and Rabbits are the best? Most of them don't even have noses! Like what's even going on there, they look like emoticons more than the animals they are based on, Yep I think Eagles, Pigs, and Frogs are superior in base design over the nose-less legion of cats and bunnies.

And I do somewhat judge dream islands I visit with their picks, but it's really only when it's the S Tier Popular picks being like 80% or higher of their island. I simply wonder if they think for themselves or parrot the internet and content creator's judgement of the villagers. As seen by Merry's raise in popularity after a streamer had her or his viewers flood a poll in Merry's favor, boosting a rather overlooked villager into a must have cat villager everyone wants. Part of the time I'm hoping into a dream to visit new villagers and see their reactions to find hidden gems or freaky ones... I don't really need to check or see Judy, Sherb, Merry, or any of those types anymore after seeing them a hundred times over.

Nope, not at all. I don't care if I have villagers which are considered to be unpopular/hated/overrated/ugly/whatever. I pick who I want on my island regardless of how many people out there like them or not. I also don't take it personally if someone gives up their honest opinion about a villager I have and therefore judge me. At the end, you can't force someone to like every single villager.

I've been playing Animal Crossing since Jan 2008 and not once in all that time have I felt embarrassed or like I was being judged for who I have.
(well, except Mallary and Ursala in AC:GCN, they're pretty embarrassing lmaoo. never felt judged for having them I just really hate them a lot)

but yeah I'd never considered that someone could feel judged for their villager selection? like that just sounds kinda silly to me. if you like who's in your town then who cares what anyone else thinks?

Sometimes yes.. Marshal is my favorite but because he is a squirrel and a mallow.

I can see someone wondering inside why someone has Raymond in their town. Like, is it a girl that think he’s attractive and loves him? Or do they just want him because he’s popular and they want to seem cool? I don’t think we should have villagers based on what tier they fall under. All of my villagers were chosen based on their species and color scheme. (My villagers are shown in my signature.)

This is probably more likely. While I like seeing what villagers are on an island, I'll admit I'm a little judgy when it's exactly the same 10-12 "Tier S" animals you see everywhere else. It's fun to see variety, including some of the (actually) rarer villagers.

I guess people would judge Judy, Marshal, and Anabelle. Judy and Marshal are both very popular and people think they're overrated. I love them, but I see why they're overrated. I prefer having underrated villagers like Anabelle. Anteaters are just really hated, but I love them a lot and Anabelle is one of my favorite villagers.
