whats your favorite 3ds game other than acnl and why? I have to say ssb 3ds. my 2nd 3ds game with most play time. i just love fighting games and ssb is one of my faves. cant wait to play ssbu on the switch when i get one.

Pokemon Y. I don't understand why opinions are so divided on it; I feel like it used the 3DS capabilities to the best it could, and packed a lot of content in.

Fire Emblem Awakening. It's not my favorite FE game by a long shot, but I believe it is my second most played game on 3DS. I really enjoyed playing it.

honestly any of the pokemon games, pokemon has always been one of my favorite series and it will always have a special place in my heart

Definitely Xenoblade Chronicles 3D. I’m not really interested in JRPGs too much, but I got the game back when it was released for the New Nintendo 3DS in 2015 and played it off and on throughout the past couple years. Last year I progressed through everything faster finally and over christmas break I finished the game a couple days before the end of 2018. Staying up late into the morning a couple days after Christmas to have finally beat it and watching the ending was truly rewarding. It’s one of the best JRPGs out there, imo, and I can safely say I’ve sunk more hours into my file on there than any other 3DS game. I have a file now on Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Wii U which I plan on resuming when I’m on break from university again, and plan on eventually playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 once I have a Switch. :)

Well good news that ACNL will never be my favorite 3ds game so its easy to know what is actually my fav and that is Fire Emblem Fates or Awakening.

I can't tell why I like those two games really because all I can say I like the stories and the characters
also I am a fan of FE so that is another thing

Probably Fire Emblem Awakening.

It's not my favourite Fire Emblem game, that would probably still got to Fire Emblem *insert sub title it didn't originally have*, yano, the first Western released one on GBA with Lyn in it. Nostalgia probably plays a role there, but still a good game IMO.

Awakening is still fun though, I would probably say my second favourite, and I like going back to it and using different units for each playthrough or promoting them to different classes. I'll occasionally try another run without resetting when a character dies to see how far I can get, but I've never actually finished it that way. I usually go the reset route since 'casual' no deaths makes the game way too easy for me.

Not fond of the story, I do like a lot of the characters though. It's the gameplay that keeps me coming back.

I agree. X is probably my third most played game on 3DS below Awakening and AC:NL. I thought it was great, better than OR/AS and FAAAARRRR better than Sun/Moon. I'll sometimes go back to it for a Nuzlocke, something I've not done at all with the other 3DS Pokemon games.

I loved FE: awaking. The whole time travel aspect was super cool, the characters were awesome and it added so much depth to the story and character development.

I hated fates because the whole pick a side was really black and white. It would have been more engaging if they made both sides have grey moral standards. The story made no sense how you live in a dream castle in a different realm. It also borrowed so much from awakening like the child mechanic.

Though the theme song is awesome! Ninjas are OP. Gunter was the most in-depth and coolest character in fates. :)

Here's a list -

Link Between Worlds (#1 favorite)
Ocarina of Time 3D
Majora's Mask 3D
Animal Crossing New Leaf
Kirby Planet Robobot
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
Pokemon Omega Ruby
Earthbound (SNES VC but guess it still counts?)
Sonic 1&2 3D
Smash Bros.

I need more 3DS games.

Aside from the Pokemon franchise, I've actually been super into Style Savvy!

It's one of my favorite games to play when I want to just have fun and dress up other girls and guys in town. Originally, there wasn't an option for male NPCS to buy clothing off of your boutique. That was added in Styling Star. It's an excellent fashion sim, and honestly I've probably invested hundreds of hours into this franchise. There's a pretty decent variety of clothing too. From Sweet Lolita to Gothic Lolita... Visual Kei, Goth, Punk, Preppy, Feminine, Bold, and even something very similar to Decora fashion. All the NPCS have their own quirky hobbies in their bio. It's really interesting and I could spend hours restocking my store, participating at fashion shows, and even just mixing and matching prints. You have so much liberty when it comes to making your own outfit. Some NPCS will begin to look drastically different as the hours go by!

If it counts (since it's a remake), The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D. Majora's Mask is already one of my favorite games of all time, so I think it makes sense that the remake wouldn't be too far off from there. If not, Fire Emblem Awakening. Plot-wise, it's nothing special by any means, but gameplay-wise, it's easily one of the most fun Fire Emblem games, imo. Many of the units are some of the most fun units to use in the series, and most of them have neat designs, even if their personality and character might be lacking.

Choosing from the games I've played, Fantasy Life!! There is so much to do and you can really play the game anyway you want. I completely underestimated how much I'd love this game. Another favorite is Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, although I haven't gotten very far in to it.

I second this! I love fantasy life. I ended up playing it for way more hours than I thought I would after I completed the story.

Pok?mon: Alpha Sapphire or Fantasy Life.
AS because it's a great remake of one of my favorite games, and I played it for pretty long (partially just because of finishing my dex).
FL because there's so much to do, and it's pretty fun. The story is sort of meh, though.

Surprised no one has said Rune Factory 4. Well, it is an old game. My favourite part of Rune Factory games is taming monsters, foraging, dungeon crawling, crafting and befriending people. Basically everything but what it's main thing is, farming.
I like the Rune Factory games so much, that Treehut is a Rune Factory-esque town. All of the villagers represent monsters found in Rune games, mostly from Frontier and 4, the interiors are based off of interiors in Frontier and 4 and I'm going to make Ventuswill's castle and a dungeon.
