foods you've grown to like

1. When I was little, I wasn't very fond of tomatoes, though I would still eat them because my mom frequently made them. XD I really like them now!

2. I used to eat as little seafood as I could because I was too lazy to peel shrimp, pick out fish bones, etc. and didn't like getting my hands dirty. Now, my love for seafood greatly outweighs my laziness.

I’ve grown to eating most vegetables and seafood like clams, squid and etc.

not a food, but i’ve really grown to like orange juice. i hated it when i was younger and so i’m still kind of shocked that it’s one of my favourite drinks now lmao

I feel as though not liking vegetables is pretty standard for most kids but as an adult I love vegetables. Other than that most of the things I didn’t like as a kid I still don’t like, seafood namely

I used to dislike avocados and tomatoes. I still get a sick feeling if I eat too much but it is good in some dishes. I also dont like the texture of raw fish so I can only eat it in a poke bowl with other fix ins!

I used to not like the taste of peanut butter but now I absolutely love the taste. But I'm the opposite with pizza as I used to like it but grew to not like it for the most part!

Meatloaf for sure. It's definitely that kid thing where it was gross to look at, disgusting to smell, and horrifying to eat. But now as an adult, when made right and deliciously, it's really good

Almond Joys and Mounds. I rarely hear a kid say they like these things, it is definitely, definitely and acquired adult taste. I think the youngest I've heard was 13 (in my experience anyway) a kid enjoyed, not favorite, but liked the taste.
I personally really like them, but I probably won't pick one up unless I'm really REALLY craving one, which is never.

Peanut butter M&M's, first bite they were just weird compared to the peanuts, I expected a crunch and the flavor was odd. Now I need a bag every week xD (Don't actually, but each week I remember it and it's a bit of a big craving)

Cabbage, cue the cabbage guy from Avatar TLA haha! Weird flavor, now I love dishes that have it or it's the main focus

Meatloaf. I didn't like it as a kid cause it's literally beef in the shape of a loaf, there's nothing special about it, it's just plain beef. I would drown my meatloaf in ketchup just for it to taste any sort of good.

Tomatoe (kinda). I still hate tomatoes and refuse to eat nearly all tomatoes, except a fried green tomatoe.

Lettuce. I still don't like alot of lettuce on sandwiches and tacos, esp if it's chopped, I prefer the leaf. Now I'll eat it with Cesear salad or certain sandwiches like BLTs.

Apparently all seafood? I love seafood now but apparently when I was younger I was told I wouldn't eat it.

Artisan cheeses. I would eat the basic cheese like mozzarella, cheddar ect... but not cheeses like Havarti, Brie or other cheeses.

Cheese on pizza????? I distinctly remember taking the cheese off of my pizza and not eating it. Idk wth was wrong with me, I freakin love cheese.

Pepperoni. I used to never eat this on pizzas but somehow I got over it and I love it.

Is it bad that I haven't grown to like any foods since my childhood? I have had the opportunity to try more foods since then so I guess I've expanded my diet that way, but if I hated it as a child, I still hate it now. Foods like seafood, pickles, mustard, and so on are still things I can't stand. Luckily, I was the odd child who always loved my vegetables.

On the other hand, there are several foods I liked as a child and hate now, like hot dogs and ketchup.

Brussels Sprouts! I used to hate them, I guess I just really didn’t like their texture. But now I think they are pretty good! I’ll eat them before everything else on my plate, but who knows? Maybe I’ll hate them again one day. I also really didn’t like peas but now I could eat a whole bowl full of them.

1. Carrots! The only carrots I grew up eating were the baby carrots from school (and they're super bad so I thought all carrots tasted like this) until I tasted the freshest carrots ever in high school and has loved them since

2. Soy milk, never really liked the taste at all but now its the only milk I drink

3. Mushrooms...until I discovered enoki mushroom in college haha

Does coffee count? I remember the first time I tried it when I was a young teen and thought it was the most horrible thing I ever put in my mouth. Now it's the first thing I have when I wake up.

I didn't like vegetables in general. Now I can't get enough of them! I'm still a picky eater, though.

Onions. It used to be textural. Now I love cooked onion. Still can’t do raw onion though.
I'm the same. I can't stand raw onions, but I love cooked/caramelized onions.

It's kind of funny, because I prefer most veggies raw over cooked, except that.

I've become more fond of sushi as an adult. I've always loved seafood and would eat littlenecks on the half shell all day (still do, when I can afford them), but didn't care for other raw fish. I don't like all of it, but I like a lot more now.

Goat's cheese is amazing now.
Same with spinach. I still can't do it cooked but raw is yum.
Tofu is good if cooked properly and I now know how to do that.

I can think of a few things that I’ve grown to like, especially in the last few years:
- Mushrooms: I used to find them pretty bland and the texture weirded me out. But nowadays I eat mushrooms at least 1-2 times per week.
- Eggplant: didn’t like how mushy it could be, and it sometimes tasted bitter if it wasn’t cooked properly. But now that I've found better recipes I absolutely love it!
- Spinach: steamed spinach was the bane of my existence as a kid, since it made my teeth feel so weird. I think I described it as “I felt like I could stick to the fridge”? Now, I like spinach both cooked and raw.
