GARLAXI | ★ A real Nintendo Switch Lite "Animal Crossing" Version ★

Whoa! Awesome! You are sooo talented! I wish I could do something like this... If I could, I would love to do a pink sorta themed one. ^-^

Wow they are so gorgeous!! I love the range of colours! And the stickers turned out really well too c:

Thank you! :)
I was so scared when I had to peel off the stickers to reveal the white underpaint, because it can always
do damage, if the paint isn't dry / too dry.. glad it was going fine!

Thank youuu! :D
I would say that if it's just a simple color it isn't too hard to do.. the teardown of the Joy Cons is pretty much the hardest
part and sadly it's super easy to break something, as everything is so tiny (especially the right Joy Con with the camera inside).
I wanted to do some pink Joy Cons, but ended up never doing them for some reason. :<

I'm curious, do you make/buy a shell and spraypaint that or are you legit spraypainting the original joycon?

So far it has always been on the original Joy Con shells!
I bought once some replacement shells, but they failed and I ended up throwing them.
So every color / design I've shown in this thread is the original Joy Con shell. :)

Long time I've posted here.. well, it has been a long time that I made something custom, haha.
Anyways.. since the people just try to scam me on Amazon, I thought I might as well do a custom
Tamagotchi ON instead of simply trying to sell it back the normal looking way (idk, I feel like I won't
be able to sell it at all, if I may be honest.. oh well.) So.. here is a very rough sketch of what I thought
I could do. What are your thoughts on it? Is the heart on the bottom left too much in the way?
I sadly can't remove the heart, I could just make a different design, I guess.

omg that look so cute!!
one thing i noticed though is that the colour of the sky and the pink hair have a lot of white space in them. imo i think it would look better if those spaces were filled, maybe with another art medium? im not sure if you've already planned on doing that with the finished product since this is just the sketch

i actually think the hearts adds a nice touch to it ^^

Hmm, now that you say it.. that's actually true, it's a bit much white.
I'm gonna see what I can do about it! I had another idea also, not sure
if I'll do that though, as it's pretty much: Finding a very cute card and cut it out and put a holographic foil over it
to make it glittery.. but for that I need to find something cute, which is somehow harder than I thought ):
I know I could just print out a picture, but my printer is super bad quality, grrr..
Thank you for the advice!!

Here is my custom Tamagotchi ON!
At first I didn't even wanted to keep the Tamagotchi, since it came with scratches on the screen and the App
(which is a huge part of this) is not officially available in France, which was nowhere written.
I ended up getting it still with the help of Google and yeah.. the scratches are still quite annoying, but I'm
currently annoying the seller a lot for it, haha. I also planned on making the Tamagotchi in "Little Twin Stars"
Design, but my printer is really cheap, so the quality is not good at all and I didn't wanted to spend even
more money on the project. I found later a Galaxy card and decided to use it instead, which I think was a good
choice! I also placed a holographic film over the Galaxy background to get the glittery effect that makes the
Tamagotchi ON extra cute and good looking. All in all I think it turned out great and I even ended up loving to
play around with the Tamagotchi! <3

Mission: AC Joy Cons
Okay.. I told myself to NOT change my Joy Cons anymore, but after I've seen those beautiful Animal Crossing Joy Cons I couldn't resist. I just bought 3 Spraypaints that are the closest I could find to the original ones.. took me over a week to find the perfect ones, haha. Let's hope they arrive soon so I can make my custom Animal Crossing Joy Cons ^-^

Okay, so.. I recreated the Animal Crossing Joy Cons, because I really like the colours,
but didn't wanted to buy a new console just for those! I searched about a week to find
the most matching colours and I think I almost nailed it. Sadly, the Spraypaint gives a
really weird texture (cheap Spraypaint..), but my boyfriend said that it was planned,
haha.. so.. let's say the texture was planned, because I wanted to recreate the
feeling of touching sand while playing Animal Crossing, lol.
Anyways, I might redo them once I have money again and motivation, but for now
I think it's fine. I can get used to the texture and honestly,
I think they turned out pretty awesome! <3 (Might do better pictures later)

Thank you!!! :)
People seem to really dig the texture, which makes me happy and it starts to grow on me aswell. ^-^

omg the texture actually made the colour look even better if that makes sense? it's a perfect recreation of the ac joycons!

The texture actually looks kinda cool and makes them more unique :D I really liked how the tamagotchi turned put too!

Thanks to both of you!! I was really worried people would think it looks bad because of the texture, so I am glad you guys actually like it! ^-^

Wow, your work looks so clean and excellent! These are so cool! The texture on your latest ones definitely seems intentional, what a happy accident! Do you think you will experiment with some other cheap spray paints to see if they leave textures too? I had no idea spray paint could look so nice as it does on your pieces!

Mh, I have two metallic colours, that are cheap ones and they are one of the best working ones!
Yet, some other colors of the same brand are really bad, like watery and the clearcoat of that brand
is awful. It makes it very sticky. But besides that, I think I will still try out cheaper colours, if I see
some that I want!

It's always interesting to see how art supplies relate to their price tag, and quality variances in brands! I'm glad you're able to experiment with different kinds to find what you like best.

Have you ever used glow in the dark paint?
