[GUIDE] ♡ TBT Guide to Time-Travelling/Moving out Villagers. ♡

Ok so I'm trying to move out most of my current town. If I were to do the 2 day forward/back method, first of all does friendship effect the results? And also when is it necessary to use a new save when doing these methods. I just want to be clear so I don't make any mistakes with my save file (I did a big TT once when I tried to go back after not playing for awhile and had no idea what I was doing)

Edit: I got rid of Chops just now. Awesome guide. Another question to add on haha can you do this repeatedly to get rid of one after another?

Yes, friendship does effect. If you have a HIGH friendship with a villager, they tend to ping faster whereas when you have a low friendship with a villager, it takes longer for villager to ping. Or sometimes, it's completely random on who pings. But it's usually villagers with HIGH friendships that tend to ping easier and faster, so if you dont get the villager you want to ping, try befriending that villager and raising your friendship level. :)

And it is necessary to use new save files only if you haven't played in a few days, and you're afraid that the villager you likes moves, so you go on NEW SAVE FILE to check to see if their house plot is still there. This is only used for checking if someone has accidentally moved out if you haven't played your game in a few days or if you've neglected your game in a few days. The new save file is also only necessary for when you use it to house plot villagers, or using the campsite trick. Would you like more details on the villager house plot trick and the campsite trick using a new save file?

edit: Awesome! so the guide worked? WOOO! <3 np <333 yes you can do this repeatedly to get another villager out after a villager is FULLY moved out though. How much villagers are you on noW? If you have 8 villagers, then no.
Villagers will tend to move out only if you have 9 or 10 villagers. :)

I went down to 8 but I adopted Savannah from somebody today so once she's set in place I'll try again to hopefully get rid of the 'path ruinier' Canberra -_-

Thanks again!! xD

ugh. any tips other than talking to them frequently for trying to get a particular villager to move? I'm being a total lazy bum spending the past three days trying to get Bella to move. Today I went through the month of april twice, sending her perfect fruit in the mail, talking to her every day. I'm just… UGHGGGGGGG all my other villagers ping me more than once and she not even one time!

Villagers can be very stubborn! Drake took me over 2 weeks to get out >< (back before I knew about these TT guides).

I guess you just keep TT-ing D':

I suggest you stop talking to bella so much while TT-ing, just continue TT-ing and hopefully she pings!

I'm sure most people already know this, but at least for me, tt-ing 4 days seems to work great as long as I am careful to talk to everyone on that day to see who pings.

Waiting for pings is unnecessary, imo.

At 4 days TT'ed, regardless of ping, you can do the drop back to system menu>TT 10 days forward>start new character methodology to find out who's moving, ping or no. From my experience, as soon as you identify by this method, the villager will always ping you upon returning to normal time with the Mayor almost immediately.

Saves some time, although not much if you're down to a specific villager and waiting for randomness to flow your way.

I would be interested to hear if anyone else has had a different experience with this, since so far it has served me better than walking around town....

OMG!!!! SHE FINALLY PINGED ME!!!!! I must do something amazing today to celebrate lol. Thanks for all the help.

So I'm on April 7th in game but if I go back to today's date, March 21st, it'll only count as one day right?

sorry for the stupid question, but when a villager you want out PINGS, how many days till they are in boxes?

They will tell you when they are leaving during the conversation. It is not a constant timeframe, as they may not have told you they are moving on the first day that they "decided."

yay! so can you give feedback if the guide helped in anyway? :) x

oh, so it varies?

Not really, it's usually 5 days when they move when they ping. Do you remember what date they said? Always becareful when they ping, you got to remember their move date o:

Or if you want to be cautious, just TT day by day to their move date and Isabelle will tell you when they are in boxes. c:

Yes. :)

Yes, very helpful!! I'm just going to say my experience even though I am new to this in case it is helpful.

You've said this in answers to people's questions, but I would edit the first post a little to talk more about friendship level perhaps? for a while I thought if I ignored someone they would move faster, but that doesn't seem to be the case with a villager you already were friends with and then are TT-ing. It seems to work if it's a new villager who you introduce yourself ONLY to but don't talk to further. EX: Bella I was friends with for a week or two, so the friendship thing was started. Hazel moved in after her. I knew immediately I didn't want to keep her so per another guide, I introduced myself but did not talk to her at all after that. She pinged to move pretty easily, but once I started TT-ing I could not get Bella to move since I was thinking I should ignore her like Hazel. I think the difference is that Bella already had a friendship with me? Not sure exactly. Once I started befriending Bella again, it took a good day and a half of me TT-ing and friending her and sending her mail, etc, but she finally pinged.

What I did after a while of experimenting… was to tt 4 days, talk to EVERYONE. I wrote down a list and checked off when I talked to them to make sure that I got everyone. If no one pings, I tt a couple hours later, try again, and if no one pings then then I tt to the next day (the 5th day) Everyone says not to tt to the 5th day… but I think sometimes due to MYSTERIOUS things they don't ping until 5?? I dunno. I didn't loose anyone but I was very careful that no one was pinging on the 4th day. This is probably a lot riskier than going 3, 4, sometimes 5… instead I went 4 sometimes 5. but I was getting so tired of doing it nonstop for a few days trying to get Bella out…. *_*

Once someone pings and I told them no, I wrote down the date so I can't mess up and tt-d 4 days forward again and so on.
If there is an event, I tt-d one day at a time through it and carefully talked to people.

I think you already said this… but… Sometimes villager A will tell you B is moving, but B won't ping… TT to a different hour of the day until they ping. Or try the diving trick. Villagers don't seem to ping or talk about others moving when they are doing stuff like fishing or shopping.
It seems like sick villagers don't move and that it can sometimes screw up the ping process of other villagers? I'm not sure exactly.

It probably saves time to not have things in your pockets that they will ask to trade about.
