[GUIDE] ♡ TBT Guide to Time-Travelling/Moving out Villagers. ♡

here's a method i always use to get someone in boxes really fast!
however, this only works when you have someone in boxes already.
-tt one year ahead when someone is in boxes
-tt another year ahead
-tt 5 days ahead

you will always get a new villager + someone in boxes! :)
WILL DEFF TRY THIS ^^

you're welcome! and i forgot to mention that once you hit 2050, just TT day by day because that's what i do, since i'm unsure of the gap between 2050-2012.
and if you land on an event, i usually would just TT ahead 1 day. (some events still allow your villagers to be in boxes though, so just make sure no-one's in boxes on the day of!)

Hey, OP, just wanted to report back (cuz you generously wrote out this guide in response to another post i made a while back, so i figured you might be curious as to how things turned out). Took a while but I got out the villager without losing a single dreamie! Thanks so much for the advice and guide, I really appreciate your time. :)

I'd love more details about TT'ing when there's events. Should you just not do it? cause I guess I messed up because there were two events this weekend and I accidentally TT'd out someone I wanted.

I'm not too sure about tting during events but I suggest not TT-ing during events, I will add more details on this soon. o: I'm so sorry to hear that!

I'm so sorry to hear that. ; n; I'd hate it so much if I accidentally TT'd someone out. ; nnn;

The TTing when there are events is a safety precaution. Before events, it tends to be way harder to get villagers to talk about who's planning on moving because they will talk about the event instead. During events like the Festivale or Fishing Tourney they won't be able to ping you about moving out specifically because they are programmed to do something else that day (like dancing around and giving you feathers or walking around holding their fishing rods talking about fish).

To avoid this kind of problem, just TT backwards to a time when there are no events and start from there. TT-ing backwards is safer than forward, as you can TT back as long as you want and it will count as only one day. A one week window of no events is ideal. When villagers talk about there not being events in the near future, then you're in the safe zone. If you're getting close to an event that villagers are talking about it, just TT back again.

And remember: ALWAYS COUNT THE DAYS WHEN YOU'VE LAST MOVED OUT SOMEONE/REJECTED SOMEONE FROM MOVING OUT. Villagers will start pinging to move out 5 days afterwards. Don't lose count. Seriously, I lost count once and every day I TT I'm afraid I missed my pinging me and he's gonna be moving out or something. i'm too attached

I hope I helped. ; w;

adding to guide! thank you~

so I have 9 villagers now I'm trying to wait for someone who was going to give me a villager I wanted. I'm on the fishing tourney event day. Can I try to TT to stay on this day to keep a random villager from moving in through street pass and the like…? or am I just in danger of not "hearing" about them wanting to move if I stay on this event day.

and thankyou for the clarification about events, I didn't fully realize that they probably talk about the event before the event too!

Yes, you can do that. Just stay on the same day and you'll be safe from move outs and move ins until you're ready. Ideally TT-ing back until 6:30am or 7am on that day is the safest bet. Don't pass the 6am mark (5am, 4am etc) or it will count as a new day.

IS there anyway u can TT to get villagers in your home

What do you mean? o:

I didn't see it, but if a villager moves in, how many days does it take it for the other villagers to ping to move.

If you have 8 villagers and a 9th villager is moving in, then someone can ask to move the moment the 9th villager's house is built. Not sure how 9 -> 10 villagers would work

It depends really! It's at random sometimes! After merengue moved in, Ankha pinged literally the next day whilst when Peanut moved in, bam pinged 3 days later :) but I'll estimate 1-3 days they'll ping? Nothing over 5 days. :)

Yeah, it's random, from what I've seen. The day someone plotted Ed pinged to move, but then later on it took another villager 6 days to ping after someone moved in (I panicked when this happened D8). That's why it's always advised that you have someone pinged and rejected/moved out before starting the TT x days forward then x days back cycle. c8

I will just add this. A long time ago when I use to cycle, i would just tt forward 5 days at a time. Eventually someone will be in boxes and no one will be lost. I never lost a villager this way. This method is only for those who cycle or dont care who ends in boxes.
