My sister loves making them, but then again, she’s better at crafts than I am. 😂 I think they’re cute and fun, though.

Seems like a lot of fun tbh (I’d devour that thing), though you can’t forget to turn your own home into a haunted house 👻🎃💀

I don't see why not. It seems like a nice little way to enhance the spooky season and I'm all for that. I've never made a gingerbread house, even for Christmas, but I could see having fun making a haunted gingerbread house.

This is all assuming, of course, that it is indeed Halloween themed and not just Christmas come early like the retail stores. If it's the latter, take a hammer to it. Just kidding...or am I?

But yeah, the way it's phrased and I assume intended, I'm on board.

Yay for decorating gingerbread houses in general. They should be more common for every holiday; like how cute would a Valentine's gingerbread house be??

Although I think I'd prefer a different kind of cookie construction material. Like sugar cookies. Never been a fan of eating gingerbread cookies

Love that idea! I think Oreo even has a Halloween gingerbread house?? Also I feel like I made an Easter one a few years ago.

I love the idea even though I never build gingerbread houses. My family didn't build them when I was growing up, but I got a chance to try one at work as a team-building project. Let's just say I did more harm than good. But I would love to see what others could do.

If I remember correctly, @S.J. did a spooky gingerbread town for last year's Halloween event and it was amazing! 👻

Aaa, thank you for the mention! I'm surprised anyone remembers my little Halloween town!

I adore making gingerbread houses. I like cutting and baking the individual pieces as much as I like the decorating! The first gingerbread house I ever made was actually Halloween-themed too, so I am all for Halloween gingerbread houses (and also gingerbread houses in general). If anyone is considering it, I definitely think they should give it a try! 🎃👻

This was my town from last year. Looking back at it, I wish I was a better photographer. 😂 I always wish I had more time with these things, but building this was so much fun.

Apparition Alley

Two sweet gummy bears, out trick or treating, were rightly cautious as they approached this spooky gravel road in Gingerbread Village.

I’ve never had gingerbread or built a gingerbread house. I’m not sure if I’d like the taste. I’ve only ever had the gingerbread flavored marshmallow Peeps, and they were tolerable at best.

This is such a good idea, how haven't I thought of this?
Makes me wanna bake pumpkin ginger-bread and build a spooky little castle 👀

Big YAY from me!

They're cute, but they'd require a lot of work to make and I'd just be tempted to eat mine right away. I like looking at other people's gingerbread houses though!

I would like it but mainly if the house sides and stuff were made out of oreo, so it's black (I like gingerbread but I'm a bigger fan of oreo cookies and it would work better for a halloween design if the walls were oreo cookie, just the cookie part, like if they could manufacture a gingerbread set where the whole house is made out of oreo cookie) and then use like purple, green, and orange frosting and candy spiders and skeletons on it plus with candy pumpkins :)

Never thought to do one for Halloween, but very fitting - definitely for the idea. I'm not a big candy eater anymore though so I don't bother with them as they go to waste. 🙃

I don't like gingerbread/cookies and I dont like the idea of eating food that sat out for days (I wouldn't eat it). So I don't bother with ginger baked goods.
Cookies in a container on the other hand though.. 😋🍪

Gingerbread houses aren't meant to be eaten, they're for decoration. Which is probably why they don't taste very good. The ingredients in the icing are supposed to act as a glue.

Plus the way some people decorate them, you'd probably not want to try eating them anyway. When my younger cousins would make them, they'd just unload all the candy to the point that there wasn't even a house anymore.

But a Halloween themed gingerbread house sounds cool. I'd think to do it right, you'd have to bake the gingerbread and not just use generic crackers so you could make really spooky shapes with the foundation.

Or just use darker colors. Like black, brown, gray, red, and orange.

Yeah, we don’t eat them. We make them and let them sit around a while as seasonal decor. It’s also fun to see my cat approach them lol.
