Just love the decorations for Christmas, getting gifts for others, eating at a big dinner party, it's around winter, and plus my birthday is in December.
I’m a sucker for mint candy and most of the Christmas candy I like mint-flavoured. From my own experience, a lot of candy sold around Halloween has peanuts and I’m allergic.
Christmas because I like the decorations better and presents - giving and gifting. though lately I dread it since i haven’t had a job for years (can’t find one and other complications) and can’t afford presents for anyone on my own. Also i liked christmas at home and i hate going to my sister’s for christmas because i want to be with my cats and someone be home and i can’t sleep in or hide when i’m there. my dad and i aren’t on speaking terms still and i just don’t want to be around him (he’s even worse when something is going on since he doesn’t take medicine for anxiety).
I honestly only liked Halloween in the game. I only liked Halloween when I was a kid. A lot of the Halloween costumes like the scream mask and the bloody looking ones still make me uncomfortable and give me nightmares. Also, I’m not too much of a sweet eater
Christmas is my absolute favorite. Halloween was great when I was young, but for years I've just been too busy with responsibilities to participate. Christmas is more of a month than a day in my family, as we spend weeks just planning and getting prepared. I'm very excited for the holidays, especially since I'll be on winter break by next Wednesday.
I like Christmas because my whole family can come and we have so much fun I like it because of dinner it’s always amazing and it’s a lot colder then Halloween
I reaaaally love both. I look forward to Halloween and Christmas all year. For some reason I feel like I'm leaning more towards Christmas right now. There's just something magical about Christmas. I love putting up the decor, listening to music, getting gifts for my fam/friends, that whole time of year is just so magical to me still. I also get loads of time off around Christmas so I think I'm looking forward to that too!
Christmas for me, it's fun getting together for the Holidays and I love getting presents on Christmas morning, even though I don't need much anymore, so it's a nice surprise to actually get something. xD
Other than that, Halloween is OK. Don't really need the candy to be honest. >.>
Oh boy, that's really hard for me. I voted Christmas but...
If you asked me 15 days ago I would have said Halloween 100%. I love the spookiness, dressing up, candy, and decorations. The witch aesthetic is huge with me when it's around Halloween time, and I also make Halloween cookies with my sister in the shape of ghosts and pumpkins. I love the spooky feeling and carving pumpkins as well, just UGH perfection.
If you ask me now, I say Christmas! I'm putting together my Christmas list as I'm writing this, and I have a ton of ideas and I'm super psyched to get some really good things. The singing of my local choir when we carol, the hot chocolate, and the specific presents I give to my friends are what really get me going for Christmas. Not to mention the gingerbread houses, the dinners, the cookies, snow covering every inch of our lawn and house, and literally everything else. I love them both, and they will both have a place in my heart for a long time to come. So happy fall and merry soon-to-be Christmas!
I love them both, to be honest. But Halloween is more fun for me. With Christmas:
1) You have to see family you may not want to see or are too far away from to see without a costly, time-consuming journey
2) You feel obliged to go through the agonizing process of trying to figure out what to give people that they'll actually want and need, and then possibly spend too much money on those things out of guilt or social pressure to do so; until you get all the required gifts it looms over you
3) the stress of opening gifts, because it might be something you don't want or need but you don't want to make anyone feel bad so you have to pretend that it's perfect
4) assuming you have all of the three things I already mentioned, you're luckier than most, but many people don't and that makes it hard for them for that reason; it's a depressing time for so many people, in spite of the hope for it not to be.
Whereas with Halloween, there isn't really all this emotional pressure associated with it. It's more of a playful holiday in spite of it being about monsters and ghouls. It's just more laid back and fun.
I still love the vibe of Halloween. I love spooky/weird stuff all year, but October seems to be the time of year when it can be discussed normally. Though it was more fun when I was a kid, dressing up and getting candy. Now I just basically watch horror movies that night haha.
Though I do like Christmas, I think the whole season is overblown and commercialized to heck. I work retail, so it's obviously more hectic with more people buying gifts, decorations, etc. Which is fine, if it weren't for how aggressive and rude some people get. We had to have a meeting where our managers had to prepare us for how people were going to act during the holidays. Stores also put out Christmas stuff wayyy too early, in my store we already got Christmas stuff in during October and by the end of the month there was only a tiny section of where our Halloween decorations were.
halloween is so special to me!! the atmosphere makes me giddy even though it's supposed to be gloomy/creepy and that combo is something that naturally occurs during halloween. (maybe i only feel that way because of the candy? i hope not)
even though it's closer to xmas now, i'm still in the mood for halloween. christmas is a close second choice though.
I love both Halloween and Christmas, so this was a tough choice, but I had to go with Christmas in the end. I love the overall theme of Halloween, the dressing up, the decorations, and the candy. For Christmas, I like getting together with friends and family, giving and receiving gifts, and the trees and decorations. I also enjoy listening to the Christmas music, although I do not enjoy it at any other time of the year. There's just something so magical about Christmastime.
Christmas for sure. I have at least 3 times more pleasant memories of Christmas than I do for Halloween. Don’t get me wrong, I still have plenty of good things to say about Halloween but there’s just something about the Christmas season thats just perfect for me. I’m hoping we can do a Christmas lights drive through this year!
I'm kinda torn. I really love the vibe, aesthetic and decor for Halloween (I bought Halloween Micheals decor to have in my room year round) but as an adult who doesn't trick-or-treat, I celebrate Christmas more.
