Hated villagers that you like

So Goose is a gem...

But I also really like Rocco. He grew on me and I can't explain it. I won't even try.

I think the people who hate him tend to because he's SO popular. Admittedly, some popular things get on my nerves (I don't get the whole "I like it only because it's popular" attitude, but definitely prefer it over the "I HATE it only because it's popular" attitude) but I feel like Raymond's popularity generally is justified. His design is REALLY cute, I love the heterochromia (why aren't there more villagers like that?!) and the little tuft of hair and everything... TOO cute!

Admittedly, I still hold a grudge against him for moving into a spot I was trying to save in NL and then just... never leaving. EVER. I would've hated anyone who moved in there, though, lol


Anyway. Judging by the tier list thread, Ursala isn't very popular, and I love her to bits! She's my favorite sisterly and I plan to ALWAYS have her on my island... which will be easy since I have her Amiibo card ☺ Her design is SO cute (seriously, that hair? those freckles? that sweet little face? PRECIOUS) and I LOVE her pun name. Plus, sisterly characters are usually seen as kind of tough seeming, but sweet deep down... but often intimidating to those who don't know them. How perfect is a bear for that?

I also don't think Plucky is very popular, but I moved her in (through Amiibo card) because I was DESPERATE to get rid of Del, and Del's house had been on the beach, and Plucky has a beach theme. At first I was kind of indifferent to her, but she's really grown on me. Her favorite hobby is play, and she's SO PRECIOUS running around with her little wings spread out! Like she's trying to fly- how cute is a chicken pretending to soar through the sky? Plus, when I see her for the first time during a day and she waves to me, her tail feathers seem to happily wag... the first time I saw that I was smitten!
 
I actually like Hazel, Rodney, and Quillson. I don’t understand the hate they receive. In terms of villagers who are underrated, a big one would be Caroline. She’s one of my dreamies that I’m still looking for... 😔 Also, since Raymond gets a lot of hate due to his popularity and people trying to be contrary to the popular opinion, I’ll mention him too. 😊

HAZEL! I forgot her! She gets such hate for her unibrow but, seriously, she ROCKS that unibrow. And "uni-wow"? I mean... c'mon. That's ridiculously adorable!

Honestly, the more I think about her, the more I'd love to have her in my town. Despite the fact that it'd be awkward... considering I have a human character named Hazel 😅 But I love her confidence!
 
I like Chow because he's just a funny coloured panda. Also his personality doesn't seem to be as mean as everyone says it is.
 
I'm a big fan of Jambette! She's actually really sweet. I was so shocked when I found out she was a normal though because I thought she was a snooty. She's my favourite normal now! Stinky is also one of my favourite jocks but I refuse to invite him to my island because his house is so ugly haha :') So he'll just have to live in my New Leaf town!
 
I had Limburg in my first AC town on CF and really loved him. Goose is also hysterical (had him in WW). Both get a lot of undeserved hate, imo.

Jambette is mean. She terrorises me when I visit you. 😔
 
Spork. He gets so much hate for a lazy villager, but I think he’s adorable. I’m actually super torn up about having him move out, but I need a cranky villager and I don’t need two lazies (and Erik is amazing 😭).
