I opened up a website called "nameberry" once, and like my laptop the one I'm on rn, I had headphones on and it was like "You have gotten a virus" or something like that. It kept repeating it and I was like pissing myself at this point (jk, but still a scary experience) I shut down my computer, once it loaded up I ran a virus scan and there was nothing. Life just kept going and my laptop was fine. Now I'm extra careful when I'm clicking links, reading the url and description. The funny thing is Google put the link like at the top with the main ones.
At first I thought you meant irl viruses and in that case, I think I had an amoeba in my stomach when I was little.
That's all lol
That just seems like scareware, to get you to call "Microsoft Support" or some fake tech support and get scammed
My brother's laptop was once infected with "ransomware". I don't know where he got it from or how it happened. Luckily, I was able to stop him from calling the number and getting ripped off. I turned off his laptop, booted it up in safe mode and was able to remove the ransomware with no problems. A lot of 'innocent' sites end up being injected with it, it just sucks dealing with it.
Yes, especially on my old Windows XP computer. It got many viruses back around 2009 or 2010.
Safe mode fixed it? That's a dumb virus, but ransomware is a scam
What virus?
Oh I thought you meant like a sick virus and I was like "Yeah???"
