Have you ever broke a bone?

I broke my heel... I don't how but I did and it really hurts.

Not completely broken but I fractured my foot playing soccer in high school. It didn’t heal properly since then so sometimes I feel a mild pain or pressure there when I stand for too long.

Since my last time here... Which was in 2017... I've broken about... 4 bones? So, I've broken 6 in total. My first broken bone(s) was the worst. I broke both main bones in my right arm; the ulna and radius. It was so bad; they literally shattered. Then I broke my toe, my tailbone (twice), and then my ankle... Not fun xD

I’ve never broken anything, mostly because I usually don’t do stuff outside.

I've never broken a bone and I hope I never do! I am actually quite afraid of this happening someday... ;A;

For everyone who is super afraid of breaking a bone (I don't blame you at all, I'm afraid of breaking more bones LOL) it's not always necessarily super awful. Obviously it depends where and how bad the break is, but the worst part of the experience for me was sitting in the hospital hallway for four hours and having to pee but having nobody to take me to the washroom (I was in a wheelchair and didn't know how to move it myself). The fracture hurt but it wasn't excruciating, and the pain only lasted for 24 hours.

This actually made me feel a bit better, lol! Thank you for sharing your experience, I’m so sorry you couldn’t go to the bathroom, that sounds like the worst part, for sure! ;v;

I'm glad! :) Lol it sucked at the time but it's a funny story to tell I guess. Eventually when they finally took me in for an x-ray I convinced the x-ray technician to find someone to take me to the washroom :p

In my opinion the worst part of breaking a bone is the inconvenience caused while it's healing. I'm sure it varies a lot with different bones, but when I broke my toe it only hurt for about the first hour. Even then, the pain honestly wasn't that much worse than simply stubbing my toe normally. Even though it's still broken right now, I can calmly type this without any painkillers whatsoever.

The annoying part comes after the fact, when you can't use that bone for at least a month. You never realize how important a single part of your body is until you have to live without it for days on end.

Fell from an office chair and landed on my foot. It wasn't broke but had to wear a cast.

Worst injury was when I severely fractured my elbow. Late at night I was walking too fast and the top of my slipper caught the carpet. Landed on my knees in front of the washing machine and started rocking really fast. Put my arm in front of my face so I didn't smack into it. My elbow hit the board that was under the washing machine. At the hospital the doctor said I needed surgery and it couldn't promise I would be 100%. 1st surgery caused numbness when the specialist put the metal in. He pulled and caused damage to the nerve down my right arm and into the hand. The nerve damage didn't go away and I wasn't able to bend my elbow and touch my face.
Lots of physio helped but I had to have a 2nd surgery with a different specialist. He removed the metal and scrapped the scar tissue. With the brace that straight and than bent the elbow I had more movement. The arm isn't full straight and I still have numbness down the side and into the fingers. It's not 100% but I can use it.

Hurting a foot is harder to get around and having to depend on other. With the elbow injury it was easy to figure out how to do things on my own.

Nope never. I'm not a very outdoorsy person so that might be why. I'm also really careful when I do sports so when I'm using my skateboard I just stop when I feel like it's going faster than I'm comfortable with

I've once broken my nose. I teach gymnastics and one of my pupils once did a somersault, while I was standing next to her to assist her and she hit my nose with a lot of force.
I couldn't keep myself together and started crying (how unprofessional)... Not because it hurt, but ONLY because I was afraid I'd grow a permanent bump on my nose. LOL

Luckily the bump isn't that visible but unfortunately it is very hard to avoid when breaking your nose.

i've only broken a bone once. it was my ankle. i've had plenty of sprains, though
