I?m curious as to how everyone first got into the Animal Crossing series.

Personally myself back in the good old DS era when they still put those little slips of papers inside game cases advertising other games I came across an Animal Crossing Wild World one. I sadly don?t have it anymore (if someone does I?d love to see an image of it again!) but I believe it came inside the box for my copy of Clubhouse Games. It was a rather simple ad all I can remeber are two characters chatting with each other and it saying something about custiomizing your own house. I had never heard of Animal Crossing before and didn?t know a thing about it. The cutesy graphics put me off a bit but I?m glad that simple ad was all it took for me to get the game. xD

The only thing I regret is never owning a GameCube as I wish I had gotten a chance to experience the original title. Oh well. Here?s hoping for a new title on the Switch! ^_^

My older brother borrowed the original game and Game Cube system from a friend, so I knew of the game but never played it. Then I think I got it, when another brother of mine and I were in a store and he said that that game (ACWW) was the successor of the game our older brother played. So we got a copy and I have been playing the series ever since. Couldn't really get into CF though, wasn't much of a console gamer back then.

I googled 'DS Games', and came across Wild World.

I saw FISHING in the description, and that was good enough for me. ^_^

My friend Becca told me about it, and I ended up getting Animal Crossing: New Leaf for Christmas of 2015 :D I now currently own all of the Animal Crossing games and I couldn't be happier that she recommended it to me!

Swimming Bird's let's play of Animal crossing new leaf. I played because I wanted to do things he wasn't... so I did.

When I was 5 my abuelita bought me my first ds and she bought me wild world with it,,, this was 10 years ago and ever since I've been hooked.

I passed on the series when it initially released on the GameCube, despite the good review I had read in Game Informer magazine. I just thought it looked stupid. I still regret it. I ended up picking the game up for cheap from a Disc Replay (used goods shop) a few years later out of curiosity to see what I had missed. I've been hooked ever since. Interestingly, I've never played City Folk though; I never got a Wii.

I used to troll in Harvest moon on the ps2 & I found myself liking games like this, so after YEARS later, I recently discovered new leaf via youtube, I was very bored & I was looking for gameplays to watch & decided to check out what new leaf was about cause it was very hyped up then after I watched the game play it reminded me a lot of Harvest moon back in the day so I bought a new 3ds xl just for new leaf lmfao

My friend introduced the series to me - when he was visiting one summer he had New Leaf with him and he let me create my own character and give it a try. It was so fun that I wanted to buy a 3DS just for the sake of New Leaf. Even though I had enjoyed the game a lot, I couldn't find it in stores for a few years and got my own copy at the start of 2018.

I was on Tumblr a lot a few years back and kept seeing these really cutesy, pastel screenshots. Got my interest.

I would see the animal crossing game in store when i would look for a game to buy for my gamecube and wii but never bought it because I wasn't sure if I would like it. When I got my 3ds, I didn't buy it right away. It took a while before I decided to give it a try and now after playing new leaf I regret not buying it on my other consoles because i missed out on experiencing the older games.

This is a bit embarrassing but I first borrowed a copy for the GameCube from Blockbuster. I had no way of saving so my parents let me run the game 24/7 for the week it was borrowed. Loved it so much they bought me my own copy (along with those little memory cards so I could finally save)...

My cousins used to lend my brother and me their GameCube whenever they came over. Animal Crossing was one of the games it came with the console and I played that for a while before my brother got a PS2

I first learned of Animal Crossing's existence when I was visiting a friend's house back when we were kids. It was the GameCube game. He was playing it when I arrived and I found it interesting, and after learning how much content the game had and that we could visit each other's towns, I decided to get my own copy. I have a lot of good memories of that game, and I still have that save. I maintained interest in the series, though I didn't hear of the existence of Wild World until it was already old and I never played that one. I could never get used to and enjoy City Folk, but New Leaf blew me away in comparison. Glad that my friend just happened to be playing the game that day, I'm quite fond of the series.

When I was about 9, my dad came back from a trip and brought back two different games, The Incredibles and the original Animal Crossing: Population Growing. I was hooked to AC afterwards! Me and my younger brother played for quite a few years after, he stopped playing a long time ago but I still love to check in with my town (Really wish I haven't deleted my original AC:GC town when I was younger) :(

Remember flip phones? I got addicted to a cheesy off the wall game I liked to play as a distraction... Then accidentally washed my phone. And my new phone didn’t have that game on it so I went to Best Buy and asked a geek for a fix, just kidding, kind of but I walked out with a Nintendo and a few games. I played Dragon Quest for a long time and then got the 3ds and Fire Emblem and somewhere around there I remember reading reviews on Amazon for New Leaf but I didn’t get it until 2015 and it’s my drug of choice now, I mean it’s my favorite, I’m hooked ;)

When I was younger, I got given an SD card for my DS and would constantly search for games to put on it. Came across an animal crossing rom and read about it. Played it and didn’t really get it at first but it grew on me eventually

The gamecube version was sent to me when I was around 7. I've been hooked on the games ever since, but new leaf is definitely my favorite. I can't wait until the next game comes out
