How do you sleep?

  • On the left side, my boyfriend takes the right.
  • I curl up similarly to like a cat with the whole body/twist and fetal position.
  • I don't like pillows and use blankets as pillows.
  • I prefer complete silence and darkness but my boyfriend keeps lo-fi hip hop beats or rain playing on his laptop and I've grown used to it.
  • My cat sleeps either beside me, up against my legs, or curled up on her own tinier version of my blankets.

I sleep with my door closed, salt lamp on, blinds half open, and some sort of noise from my phone. This can be music, ASMR video, twitch stream, or Netflix. I use noise to keep my mind from getting distracted when trying to sleep by focusing on the noise rather than my anxious thoughts.

My bedtime routine starts with a shower, then I put moisturizer on, brush my teeth, and sit propped up in my bed online for a bit, then when I start to get sleepy I'll watch a video, put on music, etc. like I previously mentioned above. :3

me, i usually stay up until 5-6 am and then wake up into the afternoon which isn't very good and probably unhealthy.

i'm trying to get back into the habit of going to bed earlier than that but it's surprisingly difficult.
i also have to ALWAYS sleep with a little light on or else I'll get headaches 😞

I’m usually awake til midnight then my youngest wakes me between 2am & 4am so honestly? Awful😂 I usually go back down for a nap when he does but sometimes it’s not til 11am ..

I usually go to bed around 1-2 am and wake up around 9-10 am. Not great, but ehh. I can be up earlier if needed. It takes me a while to fall asleep though because I find I have a hard time getting comfortable and I just roll around for a good 30 minutes to an hour :[

Wait, what is sleep?

I've sleep pretty late, especially quarantine messing up my schedule. I just sleep at 2am then wake up at 8 or 9am. I just play on my phone until I feel tired then let my eyes close.

Not well... ever.
No matter when I go to bed, or how long I stay asleep, I'm always still tired when I wake back up. If I sleep too long, I get a splitting headache, and everything will feel sore.
It takes me forever to fall asleep, usually with a lot of tossing and turning--which I also do in my sleep. When I wake up, there are always pillows and blankets every-which-way. If I wait until I'm exhausted, however, I don't move very much, but at the cost of a guaranteed headache in the morning. Although, I've noticed instrumental music on a low volume does seem to help ne fal asleep faster, since it gives my brain no time to think up things.
I think it has more to do with the airflow in my room, but I always end up overheating at some point, and I have nightmares when I overheat; the hotter I get, the more the nightmare worsens. So that being said, I never sleep soundly. Just hard and unpleasantly.
When it comes to sleep, I can't win :(

There HAS to be a light on, I don't think I could ever handle sleeping in pitch black since I am scared of the dark.
My door is always closed a jar but never completely shut, neither fully open.
Sometimes I enjoy having the window on the latch or a little open to listen to the outside world as I drift off, its just peaceful.

Even with Covid-19, I still work and have online schooling too. I spend more time at home but my workload schoolwise is only slightly lighter while my actual job is super overwhelming and I'm taking extra hours to help now. I don't think I sleep very well anymore just from the stress and working many morning shifts a week. I think all essential employees are losing sleep these days. I find myself waking up often in the middle of the night, I seem to sleep facing the door more often than anything, on my left side, and sometimes on my belly too. My girlfriend says I've been kicking her butt a lot in my sleep too. Oops! Can't wait for this to all be over honestly. If you guys have any recommendations for a better night of sleep, I'm all ears.
