How do you sleep?

I like the room to be darkish, though I keep my bedroom doors cracked open to let in a bit of light and so my cats can come and go as they please overnight. I always fall asleep on my left side with a pillow tucked between my knees, but I usually roll onto my stomach during the night and tuck my left knee under my left armpit, with both hands under the pillow and my head pointing left. It probably looks about as awkward as it sounds. I occasionally use an overhead fan in the summer and a humidifier in the winter, though the white noise isn't a necessity for me.

I have a queen-size bed and I sleep on the right side. :)

I like to have my TV on with the volume down, music playing, and sometimes a fan going if it's warm enough. I usually fall asleep on my side and I have to be holding a pillow or something to get to sleep. I keep the door open a little so my dogs can come in and out.

TV on sleep timer for 2 hours and almost completely silent.
I sleep more on the left side of the bed.
I live in a studio apartment...so front door closed and locked lol
No music but fan always on, sometimes a sleep story playing on my Calm App.
Either sleep on my right side facing toward the fan or my stomach. I want to start trying to sleep on my back to prevent wrinkles lol.

It depends.
Total darkness followed by only the ambient sound of the air purifier works after tossing about an hour.

I always fall asleep to music or a youtube video, it's something that I have conditioned myself to do so I can sleep in noisy spaces (like a dorm room) with as little trouble as possible. That being said I'm a terrible sleeper, it always takes me hours to fall asleep and I never seem to get enough :( I also need basically complete darkness or the light irritates me to much to sleep.

Dark. The only light is from the clock.
I fall asleep to the radio set on the classical station.
I prefer to sleep on my left side. In the winter, the covers are completely over my head, just my mouth and nose exposed.
Door open. It's just me in the house, and the cats come and go.

I have to have the room pitch black and no noise other than white noise/fan/thunderstorm sounds. The thunderstorm sounds got added later to drown out any noises from the snoring dog and husband.
I sleep with my own blanket. Cuz we tried one once...but I stole it...jokes on him though cuz sometimes I steal his still too when asleep. Heh...
I sleep on my stomach. Cannot sleep any other way which has always been that way. Honestly my biggest fear of having kids is not being able to sleep on my stomach lol (okay maybe some bigger fears but still pretty up there).
I can't sleep in lots of clothes. Pants/socks are a def no. Sleeping shorts and tshirt only.
I like it to be as cold as possible so AC usually on.

I used to be a pretty light sleeper and I used to have severe insomnia.
But I also sustained a brain injury so my sleep hasn't quite been the same since. Sometimes I still go though trouble sleeping for periods...mostly due to the headaches being too strong. But my main normal is usually I pass out very deeply (level of deep can vary based on how overwhelmed my head is - too much stimulation). The more flared my head is the longer I'll sleep typically unless I use something to force me awake (alarm which sometimes fails).
I don't tend to remember much after that. My husband loves to insist on things that happen from things I say to kicking to stealing everything on the bed to being mean if he tries to interrupt my sleep....

On one hand, I like sleeping because it's a break from my head. On the other hand, sometimes it kind of scares me how deep the sleep feels and waking up and having to register everything lol. It also feels kinda bad sometimes not feeling like I have a sense of control on how much I can sleep or things I don't remember - I feel like I'm fighting my head which never feels good.

So yea... tl:dr I'm a mean hibernating bear when I sleep

Complete darkness with a noise machine. I have a little fan on my dresser that gives off a nice white noise. I don't understand how people sleep in silence. I get so self conscious about my own breathing. It also needs to be of igloo temperature so that I can wrap myself up in soft blankets without overheating. I sleep on my stomachish/side? Also one leg bent up to my stomach and one stretched down slightly angled out. I can't sleep on my back at all.

No TV, since I don't even have one in my room but I usually scroll my phone or play a game for half an hour
Left side of the bed but I lay on a diagonal so my legs end up on the right
Door stays open for my cat
No music
Usually a combination of stomach and side

No sound, and completely in the dark. I have never been able to sleep with light peeking through the blinds!
I like sleeping on the side of the bed thats closest to the door lol
Also with the door slightly open
I only play music when I can't sleep, but I normally don't need it.
I usually lie on my back, sometimes on my side but when I wake up I'm always lying on my back!

TV on playing soft rain since it helps me relax. Sometimes I'll be watching anything like youtube or Netflix though.
I prefer the right side but I do occasionally sleep on the left depending on where my boyfriend wants to sleep that night.
Door has to be closed.
I sleep on my stomach or on my right side.
I also like to have one specific Lo-Fi playlist playing since I tend to focus on that and it makes me sleepy.
I also always have fairy lights on in my room, I find it really hard to sleep in the dark sometimes.
And finally the windows have to be open so I dont overheat and wake up as much in the night.

  • Left side in my own bed. Right side in my partners. Whenever I sleep elsewhere then it will be the side nearest the door/bathroom.
  • Side sleeper.
  • Door and window closed unless it is hot.
  • TV off half the time; half the time on low with reruns of The Big Bang Theory on Netflix.

Do you like the tv on or off?
Usually off but if it's on, the volume should be really low.
Right side of the bed or left?
Middle bc I like to make walls along the edges of my bed with my stuffed animals. If I'm sleeping with my partner, I usually take the left no matter where we are. Idk why, it's just been like that lol
Door open or closed?
Closed. Feels more private and if I don't close the door in my room, my cat likes to knock everything over or bang on the blinds to wake me up.
Music or no music?
Zero.
Back, side, or stomach?
Side. Laying on my back gives me migraines.

TV Off (I like pure darkness to enjoy my visual snow)
Left or middle
Door Closed
No music (thats playing in my head 24/7)
Side (left or right) I cant sleep on my back side looking up, since I get those jump scares
2 Pillows

tv off
left/ center of bed
door closed
no music
stomach

I struggled a lot to sleep, and never really get to REM. I dream a lot about my day and it really stresses me out. for example, if I had an orchestra concert that day I would continue to dream over and over that I was at the concert-- and in my dream everything would go wrong. a different scenario every time the dream repeats throughout the night. its bad lol, I wake up 4-7 times every night.

I don't have a TV. I listen to music or videos that I find calming. I only have a twin bed, so I'm basically always in the middle...? door open 'cause my cat would throw a fit if I closed it. I usually sleep on my left side or my stomach.

I usually crash around midnight and wake up at 5AM to feed the cats.

But with my modified work schedule, I get to go back to bed after feeding them instead of getting ready to be in the office by 6:30. Now I get to sleep in until 8AM! Yay!

Oh and uh, door closed, on my side with two pillows (one for my head and one for my legs).

Do you like the tv on or off? tv on alwaaays, normally Brooklyn nine nine!
Right side of the bed or left? left side of the bed
Door open or closed? door closed
Music or no music? no music
Back, side, or stomach? I cannot fall asleep in any position other than on my back😩

When i get into bed im not the type to be able to close my eyes and try and sleep so i usually put on an interesting youtube video or podcast to keep my brain entertained while i get more sleepy. I usually keep a very dim light with the door CLOSED. we dont want any monsters walking in right? This lasts for maybe 10-15 minutes until i can feel myself drifting off and the background noise becoming annoying. then i turn the video/podcast off, turn off the lights and fall asleep. I need absolute silence to fall asleep because any noise would annoy the hell out of me at that point of drowsy-ness LOL. When i really can't sleep - it sounds dumb but- i think romantic or happy situations and it always helps me to fall asleep...
I usually change my position a few times before falling asleep to find the perfect position which is usually on my right side with my head resting on my arm like a pillow. Also wrapping myself with the duvet is a must!! no cold air must enter.

  • TV off
  • Center of the bed, mostly
  • Door closed
  • No music
  • Side
  • Can't sleep properly without AC and sharing bed with another person
