How does "daily interest" work?

So I know that interest is a percentage of money earned over time. On the TBT ABD, there is a section that says "daily interest", but it says 0%, and it has never gone up. When does it change? Does it depend on how much money is in the ABD? I currently have 1,900 bells in the ABD.

I don't think it can be removed. It's a forum extension, I don't think they can remove parts of it.

I noticed that it wasn't fixed after staying off TBT for 10 months. I hope they can finally revamp it.

it's there for aesthetic. it probably won't be removed anytime soon since it's hard to remove it, you'll need to code a bunch of things and it's just too messy. much like getting birthday bells, it's already a hassle giving bells to people that missed it.
