What the heck?!
How on earth did i get -8 bells! on the shop i looked at my bells and it says -8!

hrrm. Could be you edited a few posts, made 'em shorter, therefore lost the bells you earned for them. If you only had a couple bells to begin with that could probably make it go negative. Also I think they take away a few bells for infractions/bans but I'm not 100% on that. But it's probably the first thing, if I had to guess.

Yeah they definitely do, it's 20 that they take, I think. So if you got an infraction or something that might be why, otherwise editing posts.
These are the two most common ways to end up with your bell total in the negatives, yes. Also, to confirm, we take away 20 bells per warning/infraction.

Tina may I ask why take bells when someone wants to edit their post?
it just takes because it needs to recalculate your bells total from the post. it doesn't actually penalize you for editing
if you make the post shorter you lose bells, but if you make it longer you gain bells. and if the length stays the same, your bells do as well

Oh ok thank you I have never noticed that much because every time I edit something it's to add a bit more
