So according to that leaker, time travel will be possible.. /supposedly/
But how are you planning on playing? will you take it day by day or will you time travel to get things done?
I won’t be TTing. At least not for the first year. After that I might but I want to do this properly first time round. I think eagerly awaiting to see what the new shop upgrade looks like, or getting your ass into gear to catch that special event, just adds to the charm of the game. I know a lot of people don’t agree, but I personally feel TTing ruins that AC feel.
I will be time traveling depending on my old TT habits but just not as frequently if this is a thing we can do haha, I want to at least start off just making sure I don't miss out on daytime as im awake later and start slow/rare TT : ) I think ill try my best not to for the first 1-2 months so I can really invest/enjoy o/
so i voted for “yes” accidentally so i think that’s my subconscious telling me i’m weak and will give into my urge to time-travel
i want to try and not time travel, though; i sped through new leaf in the span of a week so i wanna take my time with this - plus, holidays are being added via updates and i wanna experience those
I won’t TT to jump ahead or anything, but depending on how the game is set up to handle it, I would consider permanently adjusting the clock by a certain number of hours to fit my lifestyle better (I usually play ACNL in the 12 am - 2 am range, and adjusting the clock has worked well for me there). I’m undecided about whether to do that this time around or not.
I’ll also consider traveling back in time to play events I’ve missed. That’s the same approach I’ve taken in past games. Essentially, I like my current setup for ACNL (go through the year in real time, but adjust a little as needed), and I would ideally like to use the same strategy here.
If there was an "Absolutely Not" option, I would have chosen that. I know what I'm getting myself into with this installment. I'll keep the experience as honest as humanly possible.
Personally I'm going to not TT, unless I need to ie: missed the shops opening for the day because I was caught at work or something.
So I'd TT back a couple hours then foward to the real time, but for me that'd be it.
I don't plan on it, but it's hard to say. Maybe if I feel that I'm getting bored of the game at some point I'll start doing it to keeps things interesting. However I feel like I'll get so much more out of the game without TT.
I will be time travelling for sure. It's just how I've always played.
Plus, if I want to go back into the turnip market.. well. I can't NOT time travel. (I could, but it's just harder if I don't.)
I'm gonna try hard not to for a while, but I really do like being able to sit down and binge my games...
I've been making myself take the last week in NL day by day, though. It's...different. Not sure I like getting to a point where I can say "there is nothing else I can do right now".
A lot of the problems with New Leaf that caused myself and others to time travel a lot have been dealt with (to an extent) in New Horizons. Villager moveouts can be corrected with amiibo cards. Rando's moving in are forced to place their houses where YOU say they can. PWPs have been replaced with furniture that can be put down or picked up at a whim. There will still be things you have to wait overnight for (like house expansion probably) but it'll be a lot less frustrating/tedious. So for that reason, I don't see myself doing a lot of time traveling this go-round.
I'm not going to TT due to boredom and I won't TT to replay events. However, due to work, I might miss some events and to avoid that, I might just set my time to a time that has everything on when I'm awake and playing, and the island is almost asleep while I'm in work/university (although if my place goes into lockdown then I might not do so for a while). I'll also probably switch back to normal time after a year of playing though
I'll probably be playing it day by day for the first 4-6 months. Then I'll most likely end up time traveling. I mainly play day by day for the novelty, but I time travel to get my town looking good and getting collections completed.
