Been getting rain all day (I think we’ve only had one sunny day the entire week) with random gusts of wind that I can hear from inside my house. At one point, my storm door randomly popped open and I had to lock it shut because it made a loud thud when it hit the house.
I mean, it’s better than having to clear a bunch of snow, but the usual areas around town are starting to flood, which is usually an indication that we’ve been getting too much precipitation in general.
It was cold today and a little cloudy during the day but currently it is hazy outside. I'm hoping it won't be hazy in the early morning tomorrow since I work and I don't really enjoy driving in dense fog/haze because I can't see well (nor can anyone else!)
Having my first proper snow day! Obviously I've gotten snow before as I've posted here before, but this is the best so far. Scraping off the windows, making as many snowmen as I want, car sliding and almost killing us (twice!), having to get help from the local garage guys to push our car out of the really thick snow that trapped us, trucks shovelling snow off the road, and of course, the snow around our house in specific being just sludge instead of snow so I have to go out to enjoy it. You know, the works. It sounds really stupid to be happy about some of these things, but I can't help it because I've never experienced any of this before. I don't wish to have it every day but I'll happily accept everything now that it's here!
Here in Kentucky the snow is falling and the ice is coming. My county is under a level 2 snow emergency at the moment, so travel is not advised at all. Personally the ice is the part I'm not looking forward to
The winter storm is here. So far we have about an inch on the ground. It kinda looks like a thin fog outside because of the wind blowing the flakes. I feel like it's much easier to deal with heat waves.
