I work 8:30-5 so I just voted 9-5. I don't like if a shift starts too early because then I have to go to bed earlier. I also don't like if it starts too late because I can't really sleep past a certain point in the morning. I was next in line for the 8-4:30 shift but turned it down because that is too early for me. Someone else can have it.

I work 9 am-3 pm since I don't do full-time which I'm content with. I mean alright start time and you can always take hours on or off if you need to do stuff after work.

I only work part time and currently do 8-12 five days a week and despite my day starting really early (I get up at 5am) it is nice having the afternoon to myself. However I hope to extend my hours next year but because my job is partially dictated by the seasons, my workplace quietens down until least January.

i put early morning since it goes by fastest to me, but i havent worked that shift in a while. i agree with others that weekly work hours are generally too long, and people really need more time to just live their lives d:

Having done the typical 9-5 shift, irregular shifts with Walmart that had me in odd hours, as well as a part-time doing 3-9, I would say I prefer early morning hours simply due to wanting to feel like I have the rest of the day to goof off and rest. I did not like my evening hours due to feeling as if my morning time came and went too fast to do anything productive (albeit I'm aware it only seems that way when it's no different with any other shift). It also doesn't help that I like to sleep early and wake up early. Sleeping late and waking up late makes me feel rather unwell and groggy.

However. I absolutely love having my husband work second shift from 3-11. He's there most of the time with the children and comes home in time to sleep; he gets to sleep in as long as he wants, a problem he had with night shift due to a loud household during the day and first shift forced him to sleep early to wake up early.

But there you go.

I mostly prefer the 6am-2pm shift, which is the one that I usually work, as I don’t often have problems getting up early and prefer getting my shift out of the way and having a chance to do something in the afternoon if I wanted to. The only big problem I have in this shift though is that it can be very cold and hard to leave my bed that early in the winter!

Every now and then I work the 9am-5pm shift and while I do enjoy getting the couple of extra hours in bed in the morning I usually feel like this shift drags on, despite been the exact same amount of hours it just seems to last much longer to me.

Currently working from home, and my schedule’s 9:30-6, with a half hour or hour break. That’s pretty much what my schedule was in-office; I think the latest I ever started is 10 am.

Since I don’t have to deal with a commute rn (it’s ~an hour each way), I would work later hours, if my work allowed it. I think I’d be ok working up to 8:00 pm.

I like working mornings. I've never worked a 9-5 but I have worked smaller shifts? I only work part-time, sOOOO... I've worked 9-1, 1-5.... sometimes 5-9. Usually I'll work 9-3, 1-5... etc. I don't like working long shifts and for some reason they don't schedule me anything more than 4 or 5 hour shifts. LOL.

I love working in the morning though so I can get stuff done later in the day.

I work from 8 am til 4 pm. I don't really care when I wake up and when I go to bed as long as I sleep at regular hours and have the evening for me. My job isn't physical, so there are no short shifts that end midday. I feel like 9 am would be a little too late.

I'm fairly content with what I'm currently working (8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.), but by the time I get home and get everything I need to do done for the day, it's 9:00 p.m. If I want to get to bed at a reasonable hour and not wake up exhausted it doesn't leave me with much time for non-work stuff.

I'm normally there early and work beyond those hours so an earlier arrangement (6:00 a.m. to early afternoon) would be preferred if I could. Wouldn't have to walk home in the dark and I feel like I still have my day!

I’m not an early person, but I prefer the early shifts. Right now I have the earliest one 7:45-4:15 pm.

I don’t like middle shifts because I feel like you really can’t do anything before the shift or after. And I hate closing, so no late shifts.

early shifts! im not a morning person, but i prefer to get whatever work i need to do out of the way as soon as possible. mid shifts it feels like theres no free time, and night shifts im stressing about how i have to go to work all day, so early works best for me personally.

I’ve worked 4am-12pm and while I did enjoy having basically the whole day after my shift to do things, I much prefer my current 9am-5pm shift. I really don’t enjoy getting up super early so I prefer working “normal” hours

I worked 8AM to 4PM at Dunkin while juggling another part time job. We were understaffed and barley had people in the morning. So it was rough.

I recently quit Dunkin because my other job would adjust my hours and start giving me benefits. Those hours are 2 PM to close. And that works perfectly for me.

I prefer the late shifts, especially 2-11pm, 3pm-12, and 4pm-1am. I love being able to sleep in and still have enough time to get everything done while having time to relax a bit before going in to work. Morning ones like 6am-3pm are great in a way because I get off so early, but also suck because I have to get up so early and I hate getting up early. The worst, however, are the mid shifts, specifically 10-7. With those shifts it feels like I get no time in the mornings, and then no time at night to get anything done.

I've worked such a variety of shifts over the past few years; 9am-6pm, 2pm-9pm, 6am-3am, 5am-7pm, 4am-4pm, 2am-1pm, 7pm-7am...the list goes on really lol. I don't particularly like night shifts as it messes with my sleep schedule, unless I was consistently doing it (which I wasn't). Closing shifts like 2pm-9pm were rather stressful and I didn't like finishing that late. Opening shifts like 6am-3pm were okay. I'm not a morning person so waking up anytime before 6am sucks. So in conclusion, anything around 9-5 is my favourite. I work 7am-4/4:30pm currently, and it I quite like it.

Working in the healthcare field you really do work every shift. lol. I've worked from 0330am-12pm/ 7am -530pm/ 8am -430pm/ 10am-6pm / 4pm - 1230am / 10pm-6am.

I liked working 10 hour shifts and having that extra day off.. but after awhile you realize all you do with that extra day is sleep.. lol

My preferred hours of operation (lol) are definitely evening or overnight. I absolutely loved overnight. I'm starting my new work from home job (today!) I actually got to pick my hours (literally) so I chose 3pm-11pm. I can't wait. Still gives me downtime during the day and then I just walk to my office (what a commute) and begin my work day! :giggle:

I don't work somewhere, I have a business. I produce high-quality clothes from sustainable materials. and my employees have a 9/80 work schedule. The definition of a 9/80 work schedule is quite simple: instead of working 10 x 8-hour days (i.e. 80 hours) over two weeks, your staff will still work 80 hours over the same period, but now there are only 9 workdays instead of 10. That will enable you to give them a full day off every second week. If you want to find out more you can read more here.

i work at a sushi bar & have come to dread the dinner rush, so i prefer working in the mornings (11:30am - 5-ish) -- a lot quieter and a lot calmer. lunch rush at a sushi place tends to be 10x less mentally exhausting than the dinner rush for whatever reason

I work from home mostly now, so my shifts are sort of whenever I want.. 😅 Which can be good and bad.
My least favorite shifts- we called it clopening. Closing the night before, and opening the next day. Ugh, the worst.
