I have the same one you are getting i've had it for a while Ill give you a list:

Pros:
it's beautiful, Video Podcasts, giant screen, great backlight, lots of space, charges while plugged into computer(good and bad thing) great sounds quality, sound limiter, lots of updates, light, good battery when backlight is off, it's awesome.

Cons:Low battery when backlight is on, easily scratchable(huge problem), can only be charged when plugged into computer unless you get an adapter, scroll wheel is too sensitive sometimes, 60 gig one is too big. Thats really it.

Its a good buy and glitches get fixed with updates (through download or CD that comes with it) it's definatley worth it. SO I hope you enjoy it!

Also just so you know the only videos in accepts are MP4 files you can download them in that format from iTunes store, google videos, and sometimes for flash movies: Newgrounds, but there are converters like Videora
Thanks for the info.

^_^

I knew about the pros and cons, so I bought a protector thing for the whole IPod. As for the adaptor, my computer is on for long periods of time, so I'll just leave the IPod charging once it's on.

Oh, and how's the battery when the backlight is off, and how long does a charge-up take?

Thanks for the format converter, too.

;)
The battery with backlight off is a few hours maby 3 at most. Also the charge up from maby less than half battery is about 11 hours if at near empty bettery it can be up to a day. Also when your iPod is plugges in it cannot be used there is a big image that comes up that sais "Don't Disconnect" so from iTunes you can go diconnect and leave the charger in and you can use it while it charges but if you do that iTunes can't read it so you can't add files. while it's in that state
3 HOURS?!? 0_O

What if you're just playing music straight?
yeah about 3-4 hours.
Oooh, you must have a lot of content on it... I've heard that the 30 gig, the one I'm getting, can get up to 20 hours with music...
oh how much it can hold? Oh yeah thats like a week of music! I thought you ment the battery life! Yeah also I have the30 gig one.
No, I meant that the amount of content on it affects battery life... I said you must have a lot, since the battery life is advertised to be 20 hours.
how much stuff is on it doesn't change the battery life  th ebattery isn't in any way hooked up to the harddrive.

Is your IPod still on warranty? If it is, return it for a new one... Your battery is broken.

No, I'm not kidding. The normal battery life is more than 10 hours.

I hope you enjoy your new I-pod Bulerias! Also I don't really want one since I'm not really into music that much

Wow, it's hard for me to imagine a life without music...

In regards to this whole battery thing:

As I *think* I mentioned a couple of pages back, the battery (which I believe is a lithium ion jobby) is well documented in uhh... dying after about a year. I'm not sure how the newer generations of the iPod fare, but I have friends who have had the battery of their older iPods conk out after about a year of use. You can get replacements for it, but due to the design of the iPod (there are no visible screws and suchlike), you cannot just take the thing apart and replace it very easily. Moreover, the cost of having it replaced by Apple is kinda steep.

Nonetheless, don't worry about it! I've had my Mini for a fair while now, and it still works fine. I can generally run it at my level of usage (a few hours a day) for a few days. I wouldn't really worry about how long it can run solidly, since I cannot really think of very many practical situations where you need to have the thing running for very long.

On the subject of durability however, I have found my Mini to be most sturdy. It's pretty hit and miss though; although mine's still working after having sustained a hell of a lot of bumps and suchlike, other people have reported their units taking damage after even the slightest drop or thud.

As for the bundled software, iTunes, it's... okay. I've found that the older version that I use on my PC can be a little troublesome at times... freezing, and making choppy rips of CDs. However, the fully up-to-date version I'm running on my iBook (which is itself an Apple-manufactured machine) rips and works perfectly. Whether or not that's just down to it running on an all-Apple setup or not is unknown to me.

But uhh... yeah, hope I've proved informative. Sorry for the generally sloppy writing up there; I haven't slept in days.
