For those of us in the northern hemisphere who don't TT, we're entering the "dead zone" of the AC year. The holiday lights and DIYs are gone, there are no new fish or bugs until March (and there are not many fish and bugs available right now), no events until Festivale, and we've had plenty of time to get all of the snowflake and snowboy DIY recipes already. I know this time of year has been this way in basically every AC game, but I wish there was more to fill the void until spring.

Agreed. I'm tempted to do camp site cycling to try to get an uchi I can fall in love with. In the meanwhile, am trying to restock NMT and cleaning up the town a bit. (I'm loving this more then NL though, maybe it's the slow roll outs of the updates? I'm more engaged then in NL at about the same time.)

I'm also taking the time to work on my nook miles achievements more! at least once I'd like to complete them all so my time is filled raging at the cast master accomplishment and trying to do the NM plus tasks :) plenty to keep me going lol

I hate it so much, I ended up time traveling to the cherry blossom season in April, I might go back at some point (like for festivale) but its already so cold and dreary in real life I don’t want to deal with that in my game too lol

I'm actually glad this is a quiet period. We've had activities to do nonstop the last months (acorn/pinecone/ornament/pumpkin/maple leaf/mushroom/snowflake/snowfolk) so I appreciate a slow month to focus on other goals, like advancing through the Nook Miles achievements, decorating my house and decorating Harvey's.

I'm from the SH and I absolutely hated the winter. It's my least fav season (IRL and in game), so I spent very few moments in AC during that time until spring came.

i always hated winter in animal crossing (and irl too tbh). the snow is great for like a week and then i dont like it anymore. i dont know why. i cant believe we will have snow until the end of feburary, im really tempted to time travel but i dont want to because theres an update at the end of january.
i dont mind that there is not much to do since im always working on my island but im less motivated with the snow around tbh :/
at least i have my second island where there is still fall haha

Noooo, I really like winter! Yes, it does feel like a slower period, but I think that can be a good thing. It gives us time to do other projects. And I personally love love LOVE decorating my island for each season. So now I have a bunch of the frozen furniture all over, and I think it's fantastic. Some of the more natural themed furniture still works really well too, and I haven't changed up a few of my areas because I figure they're perfectly fine year round. My cafe is still there, I have the kid playground area that I haven't changed... and I even have one of my beaches set up with Shell furniture that I'm leaving there to still have a spot that gives the "summer island" vibe.

Definitely focus on things that you can do during this time while things are slower. And try to find the beauty and redecorate to give yourself something to do. Maybe it's just a me thing, but I always feel so accomplished whenever I finally get my island looking good for the season/holiday currently going on.

The southern hemisphere players have already been through this, and they didn't have a festive season to go with it. :)

I've never been a fan of winter in AC games. The snow in New Horizons is a lot better than previous games, though New Horizons doesn't have dirt patches, so there is a lot more white to look at if you don't make paths. I'm hanging in there. I'm so busy trying to figure out how I want my second island set up, it's helping pass the time with the snowy season. I don't mind that there isn't any fish and bugs since I've already completed the museum and Critterpedia for them (Excluding the spring deep diving creatures).

Greener days are coming. We just have about 6 weeks.

I'm still unsure if I like the way they did the leaves on trees for winter in NH...

In NL I'd come back most winters for the snow people but because they got nerfed in NH yeah there's not much to do now, much like real life...

I still really love when my island is so snowy haha so im still kinda enjoying it but yeah i do wish there were more events/fun little things for this time of the year. Buuuut im def gonna try to take advantage of this time and work on my island cuz i started redoing it and it legit looks like a mess haha

i love the snow and the lights in the trees but after a while looking at so much white is excruciating...i did the forbidden thing and went to spring today and it looks so much better! might just be bc its been so long since i've seen it. i'm allowing myself to go forward until june, that gives me 4 months to play around in :3 (i wanted to catch frog for frog model and also sharks...i miss them)

I enjoy seeing the snow in AC when it arrives as I don't really get any here and I like all the decorations during the festive period as Christmas is my favourite time of year. However winter is the season I get bored with quickest in the game, especially during January when they're no events going on, plus I prefer how my island looks when the scenery is green rather then white. I would also like to complete my bug critterpedia (finished the fish one) and am tired of seeing the same bugs around, you get so little variety during the winter. For now though I am concentrating on decorating and terraforming my island in order to keep me occupied during this slow time and trying not to time travel as I know its not too long now till the scenery starts to change and a new update comes out.

I don’t know I kinda like it. It’s pretty and to be honest kinda enjoying the break. It’s nice to not feel like I have to run around and get things done.
