Joe Biden is the 46th president of the United States

This election was not necessarily about red vs. blue or left vs. right. It was about removing the current occupant of the White House who never respected the office of the United States President, never understood that he was President for everybody in this country and not just for his sycophants and manic supporters and who never understood what it actually means to be the President of the United States.Good riddance.

Yeah, kind of glad the holiday get-togethers for my family were cancelled this year. My BIL will not be happy this season.
We're having a much smaller holiday get togethers this year, but it's still going to be real awkward as my dad is the only trump supporter that's going to show up. 😬

I do wonder if this will chill the trump supporters out now that trump/anyone like him is no longer in office or if it's going to just increase the intensity in the discourse between citizens.

Trump is the victim of a conspiracy to remove him from office involving over 74 million people.

in the long run there's no way to know, but as awful as this is to say we have to remember trump supporters are often heavily armed and violent. they will likely retaliate to this news and their eyes will be on people of colour & protesters, so everyone should be doing what they can to stay safe & keep others safe in the next few months

ppl who rightfully call trump supporters racists are not ecstatic about joe biden either, and don't really consider "biden wins" a win so much as "trump loses".
Yeah this is what I meant when I said I still am a bit worried about the future. Sure, Biden isn't the best choice and it's not like all the problems that the US has disappeared, but it's a good step in the right direction. Not to mention there's likely going to be backlash from it as well. As cliché as it sounds, this is just the beginning and to dismantle systemic racism and imperialism is going to take a long time, but for now, I am just thankful that Trump wasn't re-elected.

I do worry that he is going to go scorched earth over the next 2 months, and that his supporters will follow suit. I really hope I'm wrong.

now thats a big yeet 😎

Sometimes, I wish that you live with me so you can’t be near your father and his bad parenting. You can even get me to stop talking politics.

Anyway, Trump refuses to concede, calling it a false election. What a sore loser. This reminded me why I was against him from the beginning, until he was the only Republican left.

I had to mail in my ballot from overseas over a month ago, but I am so happy that I did it since the state I was voting in was Pennsylvania.

You know how people in 2016 joked about moving to a different country because of that presidential race? Yeah, I wasn't joking. I actually moved overseas because of it. Best decision I ever made. Doesn't mean my heart still hurt for my friends and family back in America for the past four years though. I did my duty to help them climb out of that dark hole and I'm proud of it.

he really is a sore loser. because he lost he calls this a "false/cheated election." I bet if he won he would be like "aha I won all you dems who complain need to suck it up and get over it."

since the dems won now he's calling for voter fraud and claiming that most dem votes were cast illegally. well, Mr Trump, maybe you lost because, oh idk, people don't want you as a president anymore? Like yeah maybe he makes a good celebrity or whatever but he's an awful president and I'm really glad he's gone.

also here's a fun fact I learned yesterday: this is only the 10th instance in US History where a president running for re-election has lost. the last instance was in 1992, when George H.W. Bush ran for a second term and lost to Bill Clinton.

To be fair, I don't really think a lot were joking about preferring other countries to live in after 2016. It's just not always easily feasible to get citizenship. I'm certain for a lot of people, if they could access it, they would.

But congrats on your move, that's really exciting. Also thanks for your dedication and vote. <3

I’m honestly worried that McDonald Trump’s supporters will do some awful violent stuff because he told them to “stand back and stand by”, after all.

Plenty of riots would’ve happened whether Biden or Trump won. This election as a whole was very stressful for America.

Anyways, happy Biden won. Not sure if he’ll be great but it certainly has to be better than Trump so I’m much less stressed now.

Trump is someone who, in my opinion, did not do anything but watch America go into chaos. He was all bark and no bite. He’s an insult to not just America, but human beings, rich people, and leaders in general.

That was beautiful, couldn't have said it better myself.
