Joe Biden is the 46th president of the United States

Ngl I had a dream he became president maybe it's my fault he's president ๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿ”ฎ

So happy and relieved. We have a long long way to go obviously to build a better more equal society, but at least we can start trying to push forward again and fight for progress rather than just barely hanging. I am definitely spending the day in gloating triumph though. And how about this time the other side does some reaching out, learning, and empathizing for a change (I know it seems unlikely though...)

The bigliest.

I'm glad Biden won, but the days from now until January 20th are going to be rough.
I'm afraid that Trump might attempt to pass a bunch of new legislation between now and Jan 20th that will make Biden's job much harder than it needs to be. it isn't enough that he won't concede and he demands a recount of votes, he really wants to see Biden (and in turn, the whole nation) fail. shows you how much Trump really loves this country.

but yeah, I honestly feel like a huge weight has been lifted. now I'll be counting down the days until Biden is sworn in and Trump gets rightfully booted from office. to quote another user here, "good riddance."

This election was not necessarily about red vs. blue or left vs. right. It was about removing the current occupant of the White House who never respected the office of the United States President, never understood that he was President for everybody in this country and not just for his sycophants and manic supporters and who never understood what it actually means to be the President of the United States.Good riddance.
I could not have stated it better myself.

I'm pretty neutral on Biden, but he is a million times better than Trump. And I don't care what party Trump represented, he didn't deserve to be president. So glad this nightmare will finally have an end. We just have to survive a few more months.

I feel a degree of relief that Trump was defeated, but I'm unable to celebrate like others are. I worry that Biden will provide insufficient aid and relief for the ills of the country, partly because he seems too corporate and partly because without Democratic control of the Senate (which is a toss-up that will involve runoff elections in Georgia in January to determine) he won't actually be able to do much of anything substantive even if he wanted to. If he fails to alleviate some of the problems in this country, whether of his own volition or through Republican sabotage, then the Republicans might elect a smarter, more family friendly fascist than Trump in 2024.

I'm glad that Trump will be out of office in January since it will be less actively destructive and chaotic in the short term. However, if we continue down the path that gave us Trump in the first place, I feel dread for the long term.

My family is already ranting about how this country is going to go downhill now because of this. Went to a flea market today and everyone seems ticked about it. I just keep my mouth shut to keep the peace but come on. The election went fair and square. And so long on your 60 year winning streak Ohio. You deserved it. ๐Ÿ˜
